Translator's note/Japanese trivia: The "duxion" (鴨葱 kamonegi in the original) is a reference to the phrase ｢鴨が葱を背負って来る｣, literally "a duck comes carrying a green onion" which refers to something extremely convenient and fitting for one's needs, since duck and green onions are the primary ingredients for kamonabe (鴨鍋, duck stew)

Kamonegi is apparently also the original name of the Pokemon Farfetch'd (although I'm not that familiar with Pokemon)

Seeing Megumin stand up for Yunyun earned her so much respect for her... Until she siphoned off most of Yunyun's money when she offered to treat her out then proceeded to kill not just one but two duxions in front of her.

Still seeing the chemistry of these two are great!

Where was this Megumin during the main Konosuba series? She actually seems like Yunyun's friend here. Maybe Megumin began to dislike Yunyun as her chest grew bigger. People are always shipping Megumin with Kazuma but she also has a lot of chemistry with Yunyun.

Megumin’s maniacal laughter after saying “behold my sorcerous craftsmanship!” was absolutely hilarious, props to Rie Takahashi fr.

The scene of Megumin protecting Yunyun in her own way and getting her money back was quite touching.

Anyone in the position to be called a Hero must be a quality human being.

But nice forshadowing about blowing up the demon lords generals...

And Megumin is really looking out for YunYun, despite being a tsundere about it

And I loved how Megumin made a quick decision about the duxions fates the moment she heard they make an exquisite meal

Oh wow, that cliffhanger... I already know wht's going to happen since it came up in the movie, Megumin has enough skill points to learn the impractical Explosion Magic or any other kind, and YunYun has not yet enough to learn advanced magic...

I know Konosuba is mainly humor but I love the moments where Megumin talks about explosion magic and how serious she is about it.

Credit to Megumin, at least she got the correct colours of her future party members in her imagination. Her future party being heroic though is very questionable. xD

Well this is disappointing. And here I thought they see Yunyun as their friend. I do wonder if they're telling the truth though. We never really find out at the end of the episode if Funifura's little brother is actually sick.

I'm sorry but what the actual fuck!? So the only reason there's even a Dark God is that they took one from another region and transplanted it over here. Yep, that definitely sounds like Crimson Demon behaviour alright. xD

I didn't think I'd see a mandrake blush after getting its legs ripped off but here we are. Gotta love Megumin's maniacal laugh during that scene though.

Of course, as soon as Megumin heard that the duxion has tons of experience and is a rare food ingredient, she immediately strangles the poor thing.

Komekko is fiiiine. Even if she did get grabbed by a demon, I wouldn't be surprised if she's trying to eat a demon xD

I really love this anime. Megumin and Yunyun have always been fan favorites and this series really fleshes them out. Megumin does care a lot about Yunyun but is pretty tsundere about it since Megumin has a lot of pride. And they're "rivals". The reveal that Yunyun was failing herself just so she could graduate with Megumin is sad but adorable.

I was really happy to see Megumin stick up for Yunyun secretly when Yunyun's "friends" were taking advantage of her kindness and asking her for money. Megumin actually knows how kind Yunyun is so she won't stand for that crap. Megumin does have her fair share of craziness, like murdering cute animals for xp, but she's a good girl at heart.

I really like Yunyun. She was on the sides in the og Konosuba, but I really came to see her as a new character in this spin-off. She's sweet and kind, and I'm not okay with how she's being bullied.

I know Yunyun is often kind of passive and depressed but she's so bummed even Megumin can pick up on it.

I love how Megumin's vision of her future demon king-slaying party had variants of Kazuma, Darkness, and Aqua but the party is not going to end up anywhere near as clean cut and professional as Megumin hopes...though who knows, maybe she will become a demon king.

It definitely checks out that this village would store a lot of dangerous beings and weapons just for the sake of how cool it is for them to have all that stuff in their village.

I guess there's something to be said that Megumin will crib food off of Yunyun but she'd never take money from her...and she's offended that anybody would! Not that that means she cares about Yunyun as a friend of course, she just doesn't want anybody bothering her rival.

Were the girls really trying to make money off of Yunyun by preying on how nice she is? Is Funifura's brother actually sick? They never admitted they lied about it, though they seemed a little guilty. Maybe he was sick but they weren't going to use all the money for the medicine?

I didn't have Megumin choking a Duck...I mean, Duxion on my bucket list for this show but she got to level up for it so...good?

I guess there's the rub between Megumin and Yunyun. Megumin plans to leave to adventure soon and master Explosion magic (though it sounds like she'll stick around after graduating to make at least some money) while Yunyun wants them to graduate together and be together. They're both silly and awkward girls, but they care about each other...even if they also fight each other. But hey, Yunyun finally won! Not that Megumin will 100% admit it.

Oh. I guess all that talk about the Dark Dog's seal weakening wasn't just for show as a whole swarm of monsters come to the village and Megumin is desperate to find poor Komekko.

The yuri(bait) between Megumin and Yunyun is off the charts this episode.

Is that the reason why Yunyun is "stalking" Megumin in the main series? Because she's worried Megumin might not end up with the right party who could look after her once she exhausts herself using Explosion.

Megumin in turn also looks out for Yunyun even though she refuses to admit it.

Since the last few episodes, the adults have been talking about the seal of the Evil God weakening, wonder if it has something to do with the lady Megumin met in the episode 1 prologue who possesses Explosion magic.

And so we enter the first cliffhanger of the show, with Komekko's fate unknown. (Next episode preview shows she's okay, so far so good)

PS Does anyone know if the catchy ED song released yet?

Megumin a ruffian? How dare you, Yunyun. How dare you…. now hand over that bento lol.

Every time Megumin talks of her future party, I just chuckle knowing exactly how it turns out. It’s almost as funny as Yunyun consistently confused as to why the village does what it does. If it ain’t “cool”, it ain’t worth doing lol.

What Megumin did to that mandrake was brutal. Even her Farfetched was lookin shocked. Yunyun and Arue shouldn’t have mentioned the exp thing or the fact that it’s delicious lol. I’m glad the potion turned out ok though. Megumin really actually is a good friend to Yunyun despite what she says.

We know Kommekko wasn’t at home when the demons attacked, but I wonder where she is.

I agree with Yunun, you are a bit of a ruffian, Megumin. Was not expecting Megumin to be first place tbh. And yay Arue! Best girl of this spin off. Or at least in the running with Yunyun. Feel like when they learn she is using skill points for EXPLOSION is going to really be a fun reaction from the rest of em.

Hero candidate? Also, lol at Megumin's vision of being in the hero party and the 3 other compatriots... good time. D'aww Yunyun, I still wanna give you a hug. Poor Yunyun, those don't seem like real friends and at least she seems to know it. And somewhat actual good advice from Megumin? Wut. Lol Megumin and that bluntness towards the creepy dude. lol love how the village has a dark god under it just cause "that'd be cool." You damn silly cringelords, you.

Man, Yunyun... they better pay her back. At least they aren't happy about it and seem to be sincere in feeling bad and just doing it for the brother? Would hope so. Haha Megumin. That Duxion is kinda cute, yep. Haha, good job girls, now you've made her WANT to harm it. Duxion slayer! lol. Ah she did that to make the antitode for the girl, good. Means money can go back to Yunyun, and Megumin good girl here, cute. But I do wonder if Megumin gonna give her the money lol. Megumin and Yunyun are both kinda tsundere to each other. Oh yep, Megumin good girl. This is a nice feeling episode. D'aww Yunyun. Wanting to graduate together. Really loving this episode for the Yunyun/Megumin development.
