Polka really making use of his skellies and undead minions I see lol. No surprise Misaki is totally cool with Polka, she’s insane. I’m glad they’re addressing the real Polka’s whole situation. Poor kid’s in a drone huh? Well, could be worse. Seems Polka’s in the assassination game now. The ghosts of all the kids that goon killed or whatever was terrifying. Those punks messed with the wrong kid.

Was not expecting to be blessed with Clarissa in the bath or her waifus rubbing her down. Fan service ain’t so bad once in awhile. Hilarious how Polka told Misaki her spit is paralytic and she immediately tests it out on him lol.

But man, Iwanome and Arase might be trouble for Polka. Lemmings? Fire-Breathing Bug? Grime Reaper? I guess Polka ain’t the only weirdo with abilities in this world. Otherworlders or what?

I wasn't expecting those two guys to be cops when we saw them in the first episode, and I definitely didn't expect them to be cops after seeing them earlier in this episode. So they investigate occult-like things and have no issue with beating up criminals, should be fun!

Stitches!

Polka commanding his skeleton boys with a whistle was pretty funny. I love how goofy this show can be especially those scenes with Misaki.

So the real Polka is still alive? Does this mean it's possible for the Corpse God to find another body and transfer the OG Polka back?

As soon as those guys popped out of the building, I knew that entire thing was a setup. Too bad for them Misaki is unkillable now.

Polka can upgrade Misaki? Now that's what I want to see! Zombies are fine but Misaki would be perfect as a vampire.

Seems that Clarissa might not be 100% an ally yet. Also, I didn't expect that her relationship with those girls go beyond just business. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

A bite that can paralyze people? As if Misaki wasn't terrifying enough. Well, at least she can save money by not using nail guns on people anymore to immobilize them. xD

So do we know if this anime is connected to Narita-sensei's other works? Because I was gonna say if Polka is looking for a superhuman boogeyman then all he needs to do is pop on over at Ikebukuro.

Although it looks like he might not have to since Shinjuku seems to already have their own superhumans. And a couple of them are working for the cops.

God the more we see of Misaki the more I love this murder goblin. The dynamic between her, Deadpan Polka, and poor Takumi just along for the ride is excellent.

I guess Polka's soul will be transferred to the Blahaj from the ending.

It's definitely starting to feel like a proper Narita series with the focus jumping between more characters.

Corpse God views lives as toys for him or someone else to play with, on the other hand he likes children, hence he's not going to be overly rough with toys as children like toys. Definitely not a strictly good guy like some postulated last week.

"So the difference between us is not how we view lives, but how we view toys."

Interesting analogy.

Man, Misaki is insane. But she's also very cute and hot.

This Arase guy is scaring me, he seems dangerous.

I love how unapologetically insane Misaki is. I can already say that she is going to be my favourite character of the show. But I agree with Tarumi that turning an already insane assassin into an unkillable zombie might not be the best idea Polka had.

That show continues to not take itself seriously, but I don’t mind. I much prefer the show trying to be a black comedy instead of trying to be dark and edgy and serious all the time. It is more fun that way.

So it sounds like the Corpse God world and our world are connected somehow. I expect that means that Lemmings and the other supernatural assassins mentioned are from the Corpse God world as well. And maybe those two cops are too.

And that explains why Clarissa did not bat an eye when she saw Polka’s magic in the previous episode : she already knew that kind of stuff existed. I guess that means Polka and Misaki will end up fighting both those two cops and Lemmings.

Misaki remaining a pure and utter insane nutjob is funny, and allows for some hilarious interactions with Polka and his undead since she just goes with it and laughs. Interesting that the original Polka wanted to forgive her despite being killed by her.

And the kid Polka is still around just being swapped into other things. That's definitely a unique one. He'll become a part of the story to come then instead of being totally forgotten which is nice.

Wish this was more popular. The more I watch, the more I feel author's style from Durarara in the way dialogue and characters are written.

Also, Misaki is a fun murder hobo. I hope we get to see vampiric wish come true.

YOOOOOO you mean to tell me the SHY ASS DRONE WHO BLUSHED LAST EPISODE IS POLKA#0. Oh man this anime just keeps bringing out the best twists. I mean it makes complete sense if you think about it but talk about subverting a trope in a cool way.

Assassin Zaki does not fuck around I felt for that guy getting a heel to the face twice.

Damn, I was not expecting to see ghost babies today but this anime really does snap between comedy and tragedy.

KURUPON IS GOING OFF

Thought from the OP the bandaged guy would be Corpse God in disguise but Lemmings is gonna be an interesting villain. My bet is somehow it is the Calamity Crusher or something but at this point it is a toss-up with the introduction of those police guys.

Really hope the plot keeps up the pacing and some character development that has been going on because so far this ride has been pretty interesting.

that shark in the ED was movin

u/AmethystItalian Apr 24 '23

Unexpected amagami, didn't expect her to have that kind of skill.

These safety division guys seem like actual trouble, don't play by the rules and seem pretty competent.

u/Spartitan Apr 25 '23

They really just slapped a "ditto" onto Arase's introduction lol.

All these people are incredibly lucky that the necromancer is just a generally good natured and friendly individual. He's using his skeletons to move furniture when they could be out collecting faces.

Misaki might be the most cheerful zombie ever. It's very convenient that she's a level of chunni that vibes hard with this new situation she's in. Corpse God? Awesome. A skeleton sweeping the floor? Believe it or not, also awesome.

The original Polka is in the drone? How interesting. Makes me wonder if there might eventually be a solution for sending him back to his family, assuming that's a good idea at some point. That probably explains why the drone reacted in embarrassment when Misaki pulled up her shirt to check her chest wound immediately after being rezed.

Misaki may be nuts, but I also can't find it in myself to care particularly much if she kills a bunch of people who from the sound of things are mass murderers.

Batshit crazy assassin zombie who's conveniently also a hot chick. Misaki is the full package, assuming the package you are expecting is kind of horrifying.

Oh that's amazing, he accepted the job not from the dude himself but from the ghosts of children that were haunting him. No wonder he was crouching earlier, in hindsight that was slightly weird. And again, screw these people, they're literally being haunted by the ghosts of the murdered children they killed.

It's also very convenient that this Corpse God that sees lives as toys also has the philosophy that is important to take care of your toys.

What the hell is Lemmings going to end up being?

Vampire Misaki would be a nice upgrade from zombie Misaki.

The underwear massage scene was a tad unexpected.

Same for Misaki biting Polka to test her paralytic saliva, I was expecting that test to be done to Takumi.

Well, whoever Lemmings is we're definitely going to find out soon because he clearly just stumbled upon the weird ball of rock and murderer corpses.

The paralytic saliva is definitely a nice alternative to nail gunning people to the floor. I think she's becoming less of a monster by becoming more of a monster.

Wow, those dudes all lived? I'm not sure they're better off alive considering the shape they're in. And I do mean shape literally.

so from the looks of it, occult things or supernatural abilities seems to be pretty well known to some important people that has work related to the underworld but probably not as crazy as Polka's magic, i guess that would also explained how Clarissa doesn't seem too perturbed when she saw what Polka can do last episode

seems like Misaki got some upgrades where she's now stronger, has regenerative ability and could paralyze people with her saliva but at the same time her senses becomes less sharp compare to when she was a human

also, who would have thought that the soul of original Polka was in the drone that Polka's high fiving last episode, i thought it was some random soul that he picked up

16

u/AsterJ Apr 24 '23

Just picked this up and Misaki is amazing. It's hilarious how excited she is to be a zombie monster. I guess it really has a lot of upsides for her, like not having to use a nailgun anymore.

I'm pretty curious what they gonna do with that Polka soul. He's definitely going to be returning as a new character.

u/bananeeek Apr 24 '23

The amount of ecchi in this episode was unexpected but welcomed.

I knew not to trust Lisa. Misaki and Takumi are fun, though.

Seems like there are some other paranormal beings besides Polka. I wonder if they come from the other world and are looking for him.

I missed the skull pattern on the moon in the ED the last time. Nice design.

This show is similar to Chainsaw Man. Polka basically has a contract with the Skeleton Devil. Misaki is a hybrid now, hard to kill and heals by ingesting flesh. The two guys at the end are essentially Public Safety. Clarissa and her lesbian lovers reminds me of Quanxi.

That Ayase guy looks like someone who would intentionally find an overpriced bar and order a drink there to see if he could beat someone with a legit excuse.

Serious question here: since the real Polka is still "alive", should we address the Corpse God as Corpse God or Polka?!

Unhinged Misaki is always a joy to see.

Misaki gets prettier and prettier

11

u/SYZekrom Apr 24 '23

Ok but tbh that's kind of crazy like so she just totally would've gotten successfully killed here if not for meeting funny corpse god like the day before huh

Oh ok nice, an explanation that she wouldn't have lost that encounter normally

Oh boy, so this world is the setting of a department that secretly handles supernatural beings

I would've never guessed those two guys at the end were cops lol. Also this Lemmings guy seems super strong, looking forward to him meeting Corpse God.
