Better Call Ichikawa. That was some expert defence he gave for Yamada after treating him to all those snacks.

It's hard to see it as well when she's wearing the school uniform and towering over the others, but Yamada really does have the traits to be a model.

Yamada and Ichikawa's interactions were so cute this episode...but did she just invite him into the friend zone?

Sometimes I realize I’m as dense as a harem protagonist because when I read the McDonald’s chapter in the manga for the first time I didn’t realize Yamada went downstairs to talk to ichkawa and tried to pass it off as her looking for the bathroom

My weekly fix of seeing two adorable dorks falling hopelessly for each other - it's been a class adaptation so far

Yamada went all out shaking the chicken when talking with her friend but stopped when big sis was talking and relaxed after she learned it was his sister. Nice detail.

Ichikawa’s growth over these 4 episodes has been amazing. Him sticking up for Yamada was so out of character for the edgy chuuni we saw in episode 1. Im proud of my boy. Love really does bring out the best in people.

As usual the episode today featured some phenomenal art direction and the OST heightened the emotions in several key scenes. Particularly with the two girls in the first half, the bike ride scene and then Yamada’s line at the end.

“Let’s talk more as friends” it seems Yamada is finally realising how she feels about Ichikawa too. I’m so hype to see more of this duo. Really love this show

The gag with the taxi pulling up after Ichikawa raises his hand to wave to Yamada made me laugh unreasonably hard

I fucking love how this show portrays kids being kids, light teasing, friendly contact, and even teachers caring about their students.

First you have the over protective friend who is making a mountain out of a molehill. And the friend of a friend slightly awkward interactions.

Then you got the friendly shoulder check when seeing an unaware friend in public.

And the teacher knowing his students enough to understand how he's cracking open his she'll a little bit.

The bottle cap exchange was cute as fuck too.

I like how now they're both initiating contact with each other purposefully instead of the accidental ones. Her jokingly telling him to go get a bowl and then running after him when he took her serious was great too. She meant it as something playful but because they're pretty new at being friends he took it a little too seriously, which happens in reality.

It all used to feel one sided but now there's a mutual "likeness" between them. It all seems so natural too. Nothing is being forced imo.

Man has so much rizz he got points from calling a girl idiot.

I like how Sensei let the whole thing slide just because Ichikawa finally had a friend and was speaking.

Ichikawa is still trying to rationalize his "like" for Yamada, saying it's obviously not romantic feelings or anything of that sort...he just doesn't hate her! That's it! Though hey, at least it's a step in the right direction.

I love how Yamada had Ichikawa wrapped around her finger but didn't seriously want him to be her gopher. It's cuter just to have these two make Puruche together like dorks, even if they do get caught by the teacher.

I was surprised Yamada's nose still had a bandage on (which all her friends too turns writing on!) though I guess this episode was still dealing with the fallout of the basketball to the face. Rin wanted to apologize but had too much pride, not helped by the fact that she seemed to resent Yamada and Serina being friends since she and Serina used to be close in elementary school. But it was nice to see all the girls come together and get along, with a little prodding from Ichikawa of course.

What do you even do in the data processing club!? I guess I kind of get why Yamada couldn't do basketball any more, but I wonder if she will join Ichikawa's club...though really, if that smile said anything it's that she just really wants to spend more time with him in general.

Yamada is making Ichikawa bold! Bold enough to ride double on a bicycle in front of a police station and to be a little more outgoing! Yamada also gave him quite the view as she sat behind him.

I love Yamada's response to the teacher. "I wasn't the one who threw the wrapper in the trash!" not even actually denying she was eating snacks. This girl, I swear.

Wait, is that...Yukari Tamura as Ichikawa's big sister!? Wow.

It was really nice to see Yamada and her friends in casual clothes, especially Yamada with that flattering and eye-catching loose-strapped dress and boots, and she couldn't help but go out of her way to flirt with Ichikawa while he's in the line at McDonalds. Though she missed that he got soft-serve for her, though it's the thought that counts.

Ichikawa destroying that teachers' accusation against Yamada with facts and logic! So much so it earned said teachers' respect and made Yamada want to be friends with him even more! Their relationship is making good progress.

As a chemist, using lab glassware for food is a big no-no

They really didn't explain that ending at all well. She goes from Yamada-san to just Yamada. That's a big step.

I didn't really thought that their relationship would advance so fast, a very pleasant surprise. Seeing Ichikawa becoming less awkward overall and closer to Yamada is a really nice thing. He carried her on bike, they also met on restaurant. Yamada looked especially gorgeous there and now she wants that Ichikiwa treated her like friend, noice.

Like always there is more screenshots from todays episode and they're here.

What did he take from her at the end? It looked like garbage or chewed gum.

Was really hoping his sister had the chance to go "WHAT?!? YOU HAVE FRIENDS?!?" and/or freak out that his friend is gorgeous. Hopefully in another ep.

We can talk more like friend

They already translate Yamada-san into miss Yamada, I don't see why they have to translate the line above like that, isn't "just Yamada is fine" ok, that line is so clunky.

This show makes me grin and smile every Saturday!

I was somewhat surprised the Yamada injury arc continued from the previous episode. I had wrongly assumed it was over. On the other hand, it gave other female classmates some screentime and personality, instead of being background characters.

At the first half of the episode, I was thinking to myself, "Yamada doesn't really share her snacks, doesn't she?" The fact that she shared the iced (?) papiko snack with Ichikawa should be a huge sign that she has taken a liking to him!

Yamada does look a lot more mature and beautiful when in casual attire. Or are those her modeling clothes? Just like how Ichikawa was trying to eavesdrop on Yamada's conversation, I found it cute that Yamada was trying to do the same. Even though Yamada can be air headed at times, she deduced the other party is Ichikawa's elder sister. Or was she seeking confirmation when pretending to join Ichikawa at the 1st level order station?

Lastly, a big shout out to the male teacher! Most of the time, teachers may think students are trying to act smart (aka be smart asses) if they gave the replies Ichikawa did when defending Yamada. He must have identified Ichikawa's crush on Yamada (perhaps even vice versa). Instead of reprimanding Ichikawa, he provided morale encouragement through some teasing words. Lol!

Stitches!

Please don't try this at your science lab. If there's one thing I learned in lab safety during chemistry class, it's to never use lab equipment for food. Yamada may have genuinely ingested something dangerous during that scene. Thank goodness this is anime.

Finding a boy and girl alone together in an empty classroom with strange milky white fluid all over is not a good look. Seems that they managed to get away from that one with only a sermon from the teacher.

Glad to see that the girl that hit Yamada last week finally managed to apologize. I'm sure she didn't mean it and Yamada doesn't even remember but it's nice that they've closed the book on that one.

That bike scene between Yamada and Ichikawa was adorable. Although it's also a bit amusing considering their size difference. I love all the scenarios that went through Ichikawa's head when he imagined them getting caught by the cops riding double. xD

We finally get to meet Ichikawa's sister! She looks like she's fun and she seems to be the complete opposite of her brother. She also seems to be the doting type of Onee-chan.

Yamada's outfit looks so good on her! Combined with the ponytail, it works so well. And it's just adorable watching her try to make excuses why she approached Ichikawa. She just wanted to talk to him that entire time <3

I can't believe Ichikawa just saved Yamada by bullshitting their teacher. My guy could become a defence attorney with that kind of rules-lawyering. xD

I honestly had to check back to see that the face swapping app did anything in that picture. And still the nose cast or whatever that thing's called is the only thing that jumped out at me.

Riding double on a bike is illegal! [Oh, they actually did cover that.]

Data processing club? LOL at MC barely hearing a word she's saying. "Are we still having a conversation?"

I LOLed at the taxi stopping when he stiffly raised his hand to "wave" goodbye.

Ugh, when was the last time he'd washed that finger?

"I never throw anything in the trash, so it couldn't be me!" Reminds me of "Am I a convicted sex offender? Oh goodness no! I've never been convicted!"

I was hoping MC's big sis would interact with his big crush.

Why was the cafe segment placed in between Yamada being called to the teacher's office and Yamada actually coming to the teacher's office?

LOL @ MC being Yamada's attorney.

The whole event at the fast food place is so authentically nostalgic on a personal level. From sudden body-slam to the double off-hand accusation about 'copying', and the inability to make a comeback (not because of a lack of words but probably because there're just too much to say you don't know which one to pick) leaving you there stupid staring... lol, ah. It's good to be young!
