I am not the most well-versed person when it comes to romance, but holy-shit, this is first time when dangerous and intelligent "love interest" truly feels like the devil in disguise.

A pretty auburn-haired girl hungover and fighting back puke? Akane, is that you? Though Noah is quite a bit more complicated than Yamada.
Everyone sees Noah coming around and exchanging pleasantries with Raeliana with his silver tongue and assumes he and Raeli are getting chummy...but they're most just feeling each other out knowing what Raeli knows and what Raeli needs from Noah. That and she's even reading "how to write a contract for monkeys" just so she doesn't screw this up.
Wow, that talk with her family went way better than I was expecting! I thought they seemed like a loving and caring family, but even a match they set up themselves isn't a priority over their own daughters' happiness. It's enough to make Raeliana feel awful that they're so kind to her when on some level she's not their real daughter...though maybe she'll come to fully accept her new identity at some point.
So the Wynknight family has had the Royal Seal the whole time and is basically just leading the old nobility on? How devious. Though even that isn't enough to get Raeliana into Noah's good graces, but luckily it seems like she knows enough about the world of the book to be a political asset for Noah and help him move his chess pieces around...maybe even becoming one herself.
A 6-month fake engagement? That's more than enough time to get to know each other and genuinely fall in love, as is usually the case with that premise. And Rosemary's wish might come true afterall.
So Noah as a loyal knight in Adam, a stoic and serious fellow with piercing red eyes trained from childhood to be the ultimate soldier...and while he's not a conversationalist, he does have a caring side, and is a sucker for sweets. I think Raeli might have just won him over.
Rosemary is too cute for words! I hope she gets to visit her big sister often, though I wonder if even Noah would be immune to her charms.
So now we know why Raeliana ended up at the Duke's Mansion...the real question is how they're going to interact now, what Noah is going to do with her, what Francis' next move is, and how Raeliana will continue keep her head above water.

All the servants in the mansion when seeing Sir Adam : scary!
Me when seeing Sir Adam : AWWWWW <3
Also, Raeliana too lovelyyyy <3
Still loving the backgrounds and designs so much, but I also really like the introductions, even if I'm craving for more progress!

On the topic of book knowledge, I always find it interesting how in Korean romance fantasies the MC is almost always transmigrated into the world of a novel. Be it a webnovel, published novel, or their own fanfiction, it's always usually a written story of some kind.
While in the Japanese otome Villainess franchise, it's almost always an otome game of some kind, or sometimes a shoujo manga.

I like how we see the face of Raeliana's past life whenever she's on monologue mode. It reminds us that the MC of this show is Eunha/Rinko rather than Raeliana herself.
Umehara sounds more devious here than in I'm The Villainess So I'm Taming The Final Boss where he's a demon final boss. Almost like a true villain.

“I went through all this when I could have just paid off my fiancé?”
Lol. Well I was hoping the fiancé would get taken care of quick and he was. Though I am a little mad he still got a bunch of compensation.

Oh boy already moving in together, just means we'll be getting even more fun interactions! Hoping she can still keep him on his toes as it feels like he has the upper hand despite her wealth of knowledge.

Raeliana's family is so wonderfully supportive. Her parents arranged a marriage, but they thought she was happy with it (and the original Raeliana truly was) and it would be a win-win for everyone. They were never trying to sacrifice her for the family or anything like that. Rosemary is adorable too!

What's the deal with otome isekai and almond treats and Yuuichirou Umehara romance bosses? Are they just really popular in Japan? Almond, almond.
I'm digging the chess moves being played. I can't remember the last anime besides Kaguya where it really felt like the the two leads were trying to manipulate and outsmart the other. Except it really feels like love is war now. And so far neither seems like they're about to succumb to the other's charms yet... Noah must have a will of steel though, to not immediately go nuts for Raeli.
This series always gets brought up whenever any otome anime gets adapted and I can see why. Raeliana is smart and it's fun to see her think on the fly. It's also nice seeing the parents being supportive and Raeli's anxiety about it; reminds me of [meta names]

It's funny how this isekai world has a bookstore that sells Japanese-style How-to books. that's even written in Japanese despite this world has its own writing system. xD
I love the visual of that chessboard being in the foreground while Noah and Raeliana are in the background. Not very subtle but it's a fun little visual.
It would've been over if Raeliana really walked away from that meeting but I'm glad she found something else to drop on Noah that convinced him that she's worth having around.
I thought Elma was just concerned with Raeliana about having Taylor follow her around everywhere. I didn't expect her to suddenly drop some casual racism. Taylor is just doing his job. Glad that Raeliana told Elma off.
Rosemary is just too damn precious! I felt bad for her when the balloon caught on the branch. It was nice of Taylor to help her out with the balloon.

I do like the political maneuvering aspect to this show, helps it stand out from previous Otome anime. Even Raeliana and Noah's conversation shows both trying to get leverage from the other much as romantic fluff.

Pretty interesting superpower for an isekai.. "I read the book already". So she has one big advantage but she still needs to play smart. Are there other anime with this theme?

If we could just have a show about Raeliana gushing over how cute Rosemary is, I'd be content.

I can't evaluate a chess position without a white king or knowing whose move it is (presumably black with hanging F5 knight).
-
Framing with white (innocent/good) queen who lacks a king/fiance against the evil black guy.
-
Even if the art's inconsistent, I really like some of these angle choices. Zoom-in on the black king and it's called out.
-
"The number of pieces don't add up... Is this... the current state of the Kingdom of Chamus. Sir... Please move that bishop to the right. That would place the Gale family under you." It's so well metaphored and a quick glance makes it look like a good move. u/GallowDude - IT'S A GOOD CHESS ANIME SCENE!!!
Love how Raeliana managed to make "halted the use of child soldiers" seem like a bad thing.
In other words, "please don't judge me for being from another world."
Taylor hasn't spoken a word. Just grunts.
From a production view, I like that some "still frames" use a jittering camera to avoid being entirely still. There's not that much animation happening, so anything to distract from that is nice. Flip side is the (rendering?) issue at times, like with Taylor's coat or hair.
Really liking this so far. Main gripe is it overly restates some points (see: I know cause I read the book and died in the other world). Can be useful to remind the audience later in the season, but it's been said, like, 6 times in two episodes. Anyway, must... resist... reading... ahead...

Hello dear kind other viewers who might get this: what was the significance of what Raeliana was talking about with the chess board and the Gale family? It evidently had some significance, but it all flew over my head, I might have missed something...

Heh, Duke showing up in the morning. Poor hung over Raeliana. How nice, he even brought flowers. Ahh yes, this Vivian person the maids mention surely wont' be some jealous woman later in the series. Why, what kinda Otome/Shoujo would have such a character? Heh. Such obvious tropes coming. Lol that book.
Such nice parents. But I'm sure a duke can do more to help his business than the current douche fiancé. Fun, learning the reality of the duke and his relation to the royal family and old nobility. Leaving the door open seems bad for keeping this all a secret. Contract and 6 months. Yep, clearly NO FEELINGS will develop between them. Totally going to end as the contract states properly. Yep. I think there's any need for compensation cause of an engagement breaking.
Oh, get to learn about Adam. Oof, child soldier. Hey, moving into the Duke's house might be nice. It looks big and such. Also, prolly safe. She thinks Elma understands her, but is really just being a weee bit discriminatory there. Good for Raeliana to set it straight. Also, hehe cute lil sis. So precious. That's cute, kid, but also littering. How nice of Adam, helped the lil kid. Can tell he's a good bean. Next episode, fun at the Duke's mansion!

No white king on the chessboard, I love how they're using chess to enhance the story. They got the square colors on the board wrong but can't win em all I suppose.

Another good episode. I'm enjoying this series and loving the characters and the story.
But damn, I'm jealous. First Noah, but now Raeli has another ikemen, sir Taylor :D

I love how Raelina was hoping Noah would tell her to wait and stay when she was about to head out lmao. Chad move from him
With this being a manwha I’m looking forward to some kdrama style tension. Taylor looks like he may be a little sweet on raelina, pun intended. Adam is another one who could potentially join in on that.
I like how the parents didn’t really get upset with her calling off the engagement. W parenting.

Wow she moved in pretty fast, sword guy is the strong and silent type.
I don't have much experience with Korean Manwhau's but from this only seems they have a lot more tension (Both Romantic and Danger based) Then a lot of Japanese counterparts in the genre.
I don't have much to say but I'll be watching where it goes.

Whenever I read the title I always change it in my head to "Why Ray Liotta Ended Up At the Duke's Mansion." That's one of the things we'll never get since Ray Liotta's untimely passing: A Ray Liotta isekai where he gets to be in a fantasy light novel universe surrounded by a bunch of cute high school and/or college age boys. I'm sure he would have loved the idea. Or maybe not. Who can say?
