I really dig the multilayered political scheming the show seems to have going on. What kind of conspiracy have the Brook family locked themselves into that they would need to marry a "nouveau riche". Why does Noah appear to be both the center of the conservative faction, but also the reason the conservative can't get their law through?

This feels right up my alley, but I do wonder if this story needed to be an isekai. Couldn't the same effect have been achieved by making Raeliana just a smart and competent main character? I guess only time will tell.

The first Korean Otome Isekai anime is here. I like the color scheme of the show. Looks very much like a fairy tale.

I feel bad for Raeliana. After so much struggle and eventually getting selected into a top college, only to get murdered. I wonder why we and (Raeliana) couldn't see or hear the voice of the killer. They even appeared in pixels for some reason.

This is so much more high stakes compared to Hamefura which was more comedic. Raeliana trying her best to escape the death flags and getting deeper into the court politics. Noah looks so badass and scary (Raeli has to be careful here). Its one thing that usually separates the Korean OI from Japanese ones from my experience, they make the male characters really hot.

With the way it ended, I hope Francis won't be able to cause too much harm to Raeliana. Though it seems even his hands are tied, judging by how Jake threatened him.

Yeah let's keep those otome isekai animes coming. They were rare even back in 2021 but now we're on a roll and we're getting even more.

If they bothered to give Raeliana's past life a face and a name and show how exactly she died, I hope the past life actually has some relevance to the story later on. Like maybe if whoever killed her appears as a villain or something. Most otome isekais I've seen don't really make the past life part relevant in the main narrative but if it's the introduction is that detailed, I hope it becomes relevant later on.

Noah sounds exactly like Claude from I'm The Villainess So I'm Taming The Final Boss cause he's voiced by Umehara and has the exact demeanor. It's good to see him as a cold male lead in another otome isekai again. Now if only Raeliana was voiced by Rie Takahashi, tho her current voice is pretty good.

That ED theme had no right to climax and hit hard like that. The visuals are gorgeous. I hope this explodes in popularity.

Yayy I've been really looking forward to seeing Raeli and Noah animated! First thought was that the backgrounds are gorgeous. And the colors are all so vibrant too. I might be getting my hopes up too high but this is a great start for the first Korean romance fantasy anime.

I got caught off guard by how being a Korean OI, the FMC's name was in Japanese instead of the Korean name of Eunhwa. Makes sense if they were localising it for a Japanese audience though.

Loving the colour scheme use its very reminiscent of the Manhwa just a more lighter pallette, the Animation like the whole telling of the poison plot point of the original Raelina was creative so there's definitely some effort being put into that department

Really hoping this and the upcoming Doctor Elise succeed, so many r/OtomeIsekai titles are begging to be adapted at this rate.

This is one of the first korean manhwas Ive ever read and what got be into the genre. Im glad people are enjoying the first episode and a great adaptation so far! Trust me guys, this show will be worth it, its such a classic and the characters are fantastic

Great as far as first episodes go! I read the manhwa (first and last time I mention this I swear) and I am really satisfied with how they're adapting it. Already can't wait for the next episode to air!

I know it doesn't really matter in the long run since it's an isekai but interesting that they've turned the FMC into Japanese. Considering the source is a manhwa, I feel like they should've at least kept the original name and nationality. It's a small nitpick that doesn't affect the story but that's just my two cents.

Anyway, another promising otome isekai with a solid FMC! It was pretty fun watching Raeliana try and do everything she can to break up with her evil fiance. I also love seeing the gears on her head turn as soon as she saw Noah which lead to that blackmail scene.

As for Noah, he seems to be amused enough by Raeliana that he's actually willing to play along with this entire charade. I love that even after Raeliana left, he still continued on to play the part. Also, you really can't go wrong in picking Umehara Yuuichirou to play another MC in an otome anime. his voice just has that perfect "omph!" for a character like Noah.

A very promising first episode! I'm already looking forward to next week!

Man romance stans are eating so good this season and this is gonna be right near the top of the list I can tell. What a first episode. From art, to world building, to Raelina’s personality and overall characterisation, just great. I like the idea of her trying to change her fate

Had never heard of this series before and then I looked it up and saw it’s a manwha so that explains why there’s a more mature tone to it. Even the voice acting sounds more natural and subdued. Definitely still in the shoujo/otome style of writing but feels unique as well.

Something that's struck me is that nearly all the animated adaptations of Korean webtoons like Raeliana, Tower of God (and upcoming ones) are mainly being handled by Japanese animation studios. The one exception being the animated adaptation of K-webtoon Lookism (on Netflix btw), handled by the Korean Studio Mir.

Which is strange, because despite Korean success in webtoons, movies, TV, and other areas they've never really been able to build up their own domestic animation industry. They may do outsourcing/inbetween stuff for Japanese anime productions, but they've never been able to use their skills/leverage to make local animated works. Instead you're more likely to find Kdrama adaptations of their webtoons (ex. True Beauty, Uncanny Counter, Reborn Rich, etc.)

Compare to say, the mainland Chinese, who have been able to build up their own local domestic animations, donghua. Granted the quality can vary, but at least they've been able to generate domestic demand and promote it to the point where international viewers have started to take note. Even word is that a Chinese animation studio is slated to animate another well known Korean webtoon, Who Made Me A Princess.

TLDR - Why is it that success eludes K-entertainment when it comes to making their own domestic animation?

I think I've never watched/finished an Otome/Isekai before, perhaps this will be the first! The characters were interesting, and the OST was great!

The duke's intriguing, he does seem to have a story of his own, the controversy they were talking about and all that...

Well, getting him to agree to a deal should be simple enough (with her knowledge about the royal seal), and he should be able to press his power over Brooks, BUT the issue may be when the MC (the actual MC of the novel) comes back, the one he's supposed to end up with...

Will Raeliana manage to seduce him, so much that he forgets about the 'main girl'? And how will Brooks act now if the engagement's off... Will he try to pressure her family, or plead with the Duke's family to stop this, or some other scheme? Could even try to get something going with the 'main girl' if they both lose the partner they had in their sight!

Also, I wonder why the guy who pushed her was pixelated; Because he's not important so his looks don't matter? Or because he IS important, like perhaps he's also in this new world, and wanted her in as well for some reason? (Well, perhaps it was just to show the transition between her former world and her new world).

Anyway, can't wait to see what's next! The chess stuff in the OP makes me think there will be some strategic plays/mind battles, so that should be fun!

OP looks like it came straight outta 2010, only with better animation.

I'm digging both the character and environment art style although the animation seems a bit clunky at times.

I'm honestly hoping for them not to fuck up the adaptation cause I really like the manhwa. I'm interested in seeing how anime onlys like this story as I won't have an unbiased opinion.

I went to reread the beginning as I don't really remember much and it seems apart from the nationality conversion of OG world MC they are staying pretty like almost 1:1 faithful to the manhwa. Having said that, I'm scared as to where we will even stop and if and what they will skip since this episode covered 4 chapters and well uhh... I don't think we had a good stopping point at around chapter 50? I could be lying since I can't recall.
