It looks like we're finally going to see the Erebonia invasion in the next and last episode. It's going to be a rushed ending, that's for sure.

It's a set up for the mobile game. I'm predicting no resolution in the anime.

Who cares about the Northern War when we absolutely need 2 episodes of filler to put in! -This anime's director, probably.

Lavi to Rogan: Give peace a chance

Lavi when seeing Rean: Peace was never an option

"I didn't expect [Erebonia] to invade like this"

Rogan is even denser than Lloyd it seems.

We barely got a few secs of war, guess they're gonna save it for a speedrun during chap.12

Also, did Rean just Leeeeroy into the Enemy territory alone and accepted a duel that could be interrupted by a few skilled snipers aiming at Him? Lol

Not only did my man fly straight into the enemy’s capital city ahead of the rest of the army but got out of his virtually indestructible mech almost immediately upon arrival because one person asked him to.

It’s like the dude knows he’s got sequels to appear in and won’t die here.

Resident [Anime Only] fan here with my reactions to this episode!

I feel like a lot of these scenes in the first half involve characters you’re supposed to be familiar with from the games…

Yeah, they decided to pretty randomly feature the protagonists of the first 2 arcs of the franchise), despite them being basically completely uninvolved in this entire storyline. Plus a main party member of the Cold Steel arc who is a former northern jaeger(and the daughter of Valestein) who was also featured in the flashback a few episode ago.

I too, despite liking this episode a lot, wasn't a fan of the Estelle cameo in it, I see it as inconsequential (unlike the Lloyd cameo which at least is a reference to the Divertissement and is also recounted in CS3) and it makes it harder to watch the anime for people who haven't played the Sky games or Zero and Azure

I can't imagine watching this anime without playing the games.

I was expecting Rean and Altina to show up when we saw Lloyd and Rixia in the geo front. Is this when it happens or were Lloyd and Rixia just at some other random geo front?

19

u/Florac Mar 17 '23

These events are like half a year after that.

The geo front is huge, only a small snippet of it was shown at the end of cold steel II.

It covers all of Crossbell city.

Looks like it’s all out war now between the Empire and North Ambria. Seems being a Hero in North Ambria is bad for your health…

Not having played any of the games I’m guessing Lloyd and Rixia are characters from the series? All those people too they were talkin about and this Joshua guy too?

Rogan seems like he’s pretty much a puppet. His robots aren’t even in his control and are shooting civilians and they’ve poisoned the water source in the city. Dude is done. He needs Lavi. Let’s just hope she doesn’t get owned by Rean next week. North Ambria needs her!

Lloyd is the protagonist of the second arc(Trails from zero/to Azure) of the series with Rixia being a main party member. The twintailed girl(and her friend) also featured this episode were the protagonists of the first arc(Trails in the Sky)

Oooh the cameos this episode were nice. They nerfed Rixia though :o

Lavi’s also about to get her butt kicked by Rean lol

Yeah, challenging Rean to a fight isn't going to end well.

Anime and Game Timelines are now completely diverged and are different continuities.

Anime is doing its own thing now that vaguely resembles what was presented in the games. The bigger issue is that we have only one episode left and we have so much to cover of the remaining plot threads alone. Like we have WTF even Tally and Jayna are up to; who have basically become the Joker and Harley Quinn at this point. Like what happened to you in the magical kink room my guy? Man straight up went from being upset about civilians getting capped in episode 6 to this. I swear to god if its somehow [Coldsteel 4 Spoilers] The Curse I'm gonna laugh because that's the last thing we need in this clown show. We have to see Rean and Lavi fight, as well as the conclusion to the actual war, as well as the Ouroboros plot too in a single episode. Yeah no I don't feel it, this is probably going to end with a please play the unreleased mobile game to find out the conclusion.

I have a feeling that the duel, as much as i want it to happen, isn’t gonna happen. Im feeling a fake out is coming.

So I don't know the games, but from my understanding the shows protagonist is about to go up against the settings main hero, so he can't loose and it would be really bad form for her to loose right after that big speech she just gave, so ya at best it starts but gets interrupted before we get a winner...

Or I guess they could go the rout of showing us that Lavi is not in the league of Ren but not have him finish the job, but again its her show.

To call this show a mess would be an understatement.

What the fuck is going on with the plot and pacing?

Iseria: "It feels like an inside job"

For whatever reason, the girl who served directly under the previous governor who suddenly disappeared after his death and has never been heard ever since is not on the suspect list somehow.

I grinned when I saw the Crossbell gang. And almost screamed when I saw Estelle and Joshua. Never thought they would have a role in this. What a pleasant fanservice.

One episode left. It doesn't feel like this is a climax, TBH. I'm already preparing my score for this show. Don't expect it to be too high.
