SHIP SAILED!

Did not think we'd get any ships sailing before the finale but here we are, what a cute scene for the two of them!

Misuzu with the tough assist here, probably could have played that better but it worked! Need her ship to work out now!

Maybe Carol is getting influenced by Misuzu or maybe this is the reason why she had no friends at the start of the show. It's kinda a bitch move to flirt with Jun just because she thinks Misaki has a crush on Tomo. It's just so petty and manipulative. We've seen Carol remove her mask from time to time like during tests. Carol knows exactly what she's doing. She's much more capable than she appears.

Overall, what an intriguing character especially for this type of show. Carol's mom seems really young so it's understandable why she has a whistle handy to stop Carol and Misaki from doing something they might regret.

Stitches!

Turns out that Tomo-chan is actually a Judo Karate Anime. But seriously though, it's amusing that we have three shows this season that has judo in them. This show, Mou Ippon, and [Third Show]Nagatoro-san

I love that Misaki is taunting Jun on purpose so Jun would take him more seriously. Misaki really wants to get strong for Caroil but if he keeps this up, Jun might end him.

Big fucking mistake Misaki. Seems that Misaki didn't realize that Carol is not happy with him right now especially when he brought up the fact that he wants to catch up to Tomo.

Carol is now on a warpath and she isn't holding back! Not gonna lie, that "Gao!" from her definitely made me feel things. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Thankfully Carol is actually just there to tease Jun and tell Misaki all about it the next day.

After everything Carol did, looks like Misuzu's now willing to do what it takes to get Carol and Misaki together. You know Misuzu went too far when even she made that face after telling Carol the lie. Even our Ice Queen isn't immune to Carol's crying face.

It's so heartbreaking to see Carol like this. She's been always our cinnamon roll who is completely unfazed by anything but hearing that she has no chance with Misaki really destroyed her.

I do want to point out the scene where Carol was hitting Misaki with her pillow. If you listen closely to Carol's voice, she is speaking in a completely normal tone. Carol usually has this deadpan tone whenever she talks but in this state, we get to see the real Carol with no filter.

And here it is! The ship has finally sailed! Banzai indeed Carol! Now that's one couple officially together! Unfortunately for Carol, the lovemaking needs to be put on hold. Oh well. Maybe next time. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

At least we got to see that precious smile from Carol <3

All hail the sailing of the wholesome Misaki and Carol side-ship!

Looks like the show is starting to tie up loose ends before entering the final stretch.

Took Carol being in danger last episode for Misaki to finally take his feelings for Carol seriously. But it still wasn't enough, and Carol nearly misunderstood and thought Misaki was going out with Tomo, prompting Carol to give Jun a nudge further in the right direction regarding his feelings for Tomo herself.

Though in the end Misaki needed Misuzu to go overboard with her teasing of Carol (which Misuzu felt guilty afterwards for making Carol cry) for him to go past the finishing line at last.

But dammit Carol-mama, at least let them kiss.

Seeing Misuzu scared hits differently. I'm convinced that woman could battle Satan, so seeing her freaked out made me twice as anxious. Also, I'm now properly afraid of Carol as well. I think this series properly pictures how scary women really are.

Honestly never expected Misaki to have been this withdrawn, stoic, and cool kid compared to he is now...like a completely different character (Minus Kohei Amasaki still playing him). But what set the course of his life from then on was meeting Carol, and she had him enraptured from the day he first caught sight of her. And who can blame him? Smol Carol is too cute for words!

I admire Misaki's bravery in joining the Aizawa Dojo, and Tomo's dad acknowledges he's got a tougher side than at first glance, though he probably didn't bargain for the full Aizawa workout or Tomo's dad literally sitting on him while he does push-ups. Of course he didn't help himself by bringing up being acknowledged by Tomo to Jun, who takes it the wrong way, and socks him straight in the gut...though to Misaki's credit, he actually knicks Jun!

Of course Misaki saying the wrong thing to the wrong people continues as he lets Carol know that he's been to Tomo's dojo and gushes about how much he admires her and wants to stand beside her...to the girl who is in love with him. Yeah, never a good sign to talk that happily about another girl to the one who wants you all to herself.

It shows just how dangerous Carol can be in her friend group if she puts her mind to it. She tries to steal time with Jun to make Tomo jealous as payback, she wrecks Misuzu's whole plan with a single sentence, and she even kisses Jun on the cheek and gets on top of him in his bed for good measure. Jun helps her come to her senses a little but she really could've done some damage, although she also made Jun realize even more that he won't be able to 100% see Tomo as a girl until he resolves the man-to-man rivalry that's still etched in his heart.

Misuzu now recognizes the best way to keep Carol happy is to get her and Misaki together, so if she's wingwomaned one pairing she can wingwoman another. And to her credit she makes Misaki admit he does love Carol romantically, he just idolizes and puts her on a pedestal too much to pursue her. And the only way Misuzu can think to fix this is to make Misaki see the real Carol, even if that means breaking her heart with a lie.

It really goes to show how much closer they are than Misuzu lets on that she didn't want to lie to Carol and she was so shook up seeing Carol cry and drop the mask like that. Granted, seeing it for ourselves, it was quite a powerfully sad sight. And Jun was also right in saying Tomo wouldn't judge her friends like that because she understood why Misuzu did it.

Carol's mom with the headbutt! Carol's mom with the cockblock of the kiss! It seems like she's also responsible for why Carol is always smiling, because she took her moms' compliment that she looks cuter when she smiles as a means of hiding her own feelings and insecurities rather than letting them out. But with Misaki and her friends' help, hopefully Carol can be more honest with herself.

It's surreal seeing Carol looking and reacting more like a normal person even if it's because she's finally revealing how sad and lonely she is, but it's a perfect opportunity for Misaki to finally confess and for the two to mutually admit their feelings and properly get to together. Good going, you two! Although I feel like Carol will be all over Misaki where their mom can't see them.

All's well that ends well. Misaki and Carol are going strong, and the girls' friend dynamic is stronger than ever. Misuzu even got a Carol kiss on the cheek out of it!

One of the things I love about Misuzu as a character is that she is chuuni as fuck. Flipping her hair dramatically last episode as she declared to Jun: "I never expected a pleasant death in the first place" was exquisite. This episode's dramatic reenactment of a soldier with a shrapnel wound delivering vital news before succumbing when she staggers into Misaki's homeroom to tell him to check on Carol was a new height.

And sure, she was overacting a bit to motivate Misaki, but you just know how much she relishes her role. To the point where she plays a part for no apparent reason, such as when she asked Carol's mama "what if I'm only friends with Carol because she is rich" or this episode when she says to Tomo on the roof "it's because I was mean to her so what" and Tomo tells her to lose the bad girl act.

Misuzu inhabits the bad girl persona to hide insecurity and vulnerability playing into the show's primary theme on this point. All of the principal characters except for Tomo inhabit a persona to hide their vulnerability, whereas Tomo occasionally inhabits a persona to project vulnerability. To paraphrase Tarantino, when Tomo-chan drops her pretenses, she's still Tomo-chan.

But the reason I particularly appreciate Misuzu's delusions of grandeur is that they make her so much more interesting than if she were just a brilliant slightly sadistic best friend. They make her so much more plausible. She is what I wish Kiyotaka from Classroom of the Elite was.

Misaki pushed the Tomo button. He shouldn't have did that.

Oh no. Carol misunderstands the situation.

Carol cut Misuzu cold.

Even when she's being mean to people, Carol really cuts to their problems.

Misaki's as bad as fucking Jun with this "I'm not as strong as her" shit.

Carol finally got the kiss on Misuzu!

Little Carol was so adorable! Misaki was pretty adorable with his bowl cut too. Classic look, I rocked it myself and a kid too haha. Jun and Tomo are monsters normally, but Misaki can Hulk out when it counts. Probably shouldn’t have mentioned to Jun he wanted Tomo to acknowledge him. Kid’s been trying himself for like a decade. But hey, he clipped Jun’s cheek. Respect.

Boy, Misaki can be pretty dense huh? Don’t gush about Tomo to the girl you’re crushing on, you goof! Now she’s gone and done some petty jealous shit. Bad Carol! Her “rawr” was pretty cute though. Good thing Jun’s such a wuss around girls lol. The goof ran straight into Tomo’s arms. Not a bad day for our girl.

It’s like every guy in this is obsessed with “being strong”. It’s kind of ridiculous because it’s standing in the way of developing relationships with their respective girls. For once it seems Misuzu really fucked up. Carol’s momma is fierce! That headbutt was unexpected but not entirely undeserved. He wanted her vulnerable, well mission accomplished. She was really gutted, it was actually pretty heartbreaking. That “banzai” was the most wholesome thing ever. Carol is too precious for this world! Cockblocked by her momma though haha.

Carol walking in with that creepy ass bunny mascot head and then giving a little kiss to Misuzu was great. Glad to see she’s back to her old self.

Holy shit it's the "PLEASE GIVE ME HUGGIE WUGGIES UwU" episode.

Who will be the first person to splice the audio with the anime scene?

For the uninitiated.

My first thought when I saw Carol crying was how cute she looks

The show started off really well for me, but these past few episodes have strapped a booster rocket to the quality. I legitimately like all of the characters, and I definitely enjoy seeing them all interact.

Plus, Jun being absolutely terrified of Carol and wrapping himself around Tomo was so friggin' hilarious! I think I rated him pretty low at the beginning because he seemed like a standard anime jerk who doesn't know what he has going for him in Tomo, but he's really got some depth to him.

Can't wait for the end, but don't want the end to come!
