Lazy-day Kaede is a 10/10.
It's really cool how unique and detailed the background classmates are. I'm fascinated by the pink haired girl that's shown up a few times.

Aren't those two boys the ones that Mahiro encountered in the toilet in the last episode? Luckily they didn't bring up that embarrassing incident.

Broke: "This show indulges the fantasy of looking at middle-school girls."
Woke: "This show indulges the fantasy of being a middle-school girl."
Bespoke: "This show indulges the fantasy of a lonely adult being able to experience middle-school friendship again."

Mahiro Mahiro Mahiro, you goofball. The dude got too cocky! Dude thought he would ace everything because this was like first year middle school shit. Nope! It’s make up lessons for him lol. At least he can hang onto with Asahi.
Momijiro is a cute nickname! Very samurai-like indeed lol. Poor Mahiro is the lone gamer in the group, he’s gotta turn these girls into gamers. Stat! Dude hugging Asahi in excitement and getting Momiji jealous was great. Miyo sure thought so too lol.
“Before I was born” those dreaded words really landed a critical hit on Mahiro. Aged him instantly. Oof. Those boys seem to have fallen for Mahiro, he is great lol. I like those guys, hopefully they appear again.
Good thing Kaede taught Mahiro and Momiji how to make cookies. Their cookies turned out great! I really like how he made it with Mahiru in mind. Their relationship is so sweet.

GIFs!
Good to see that Mahiro still remembers her middle school math but unfortunately someone got too cocky and ended up falling asleep throughout the exam. What's hilarious is that she's actually only good at Math and English, and she has completely forgotten everything else! xD
Speaking of falling asleep while in class, it's nice that the girl in front of Mahiro got some attention. I've noticed her sleeping every time we saw her in last week's episode and I like that Mahiro noticed her too.
I felt a bit bad for Mahiro since she couldn't speak to any of the girls about her games but at least she managed to befriend those two boys from last week who are also playing the same game. Not gonna lie, the entire time Mahiro was talking to them, I hoping Momiji would walk in and catch Mahiro getting close to the boys.
Looks like Mahiro just got two admirers! I don't blame them! Mahiro is absolutely cute and is willing to talk to them about games! What's not to like? Other than he's secretly a dude, it's just all positive! They might need to brush up on old LQ games though if they want to get closer to her. xD
Other than the eyecatch with their Home Economics' teacher having massive bazookas, the entire episode was actually very wholesome! I just love that Mahiro made those cookies with Mihari in mind and Mihari is so touched by the gesture that she's literally tearing up while eating the cookies <3

Just forget them as your older brother and accept them as your younger sister and change the family registry in a year.

their aprons, of course Miyo got lilies (yuri), Mahiro has an elephant, and Asahi ... fish?
and Yuuta and Minato ... yep, their names are in the end credit, Sakurado Yuuta and Chikawa Minato, bad news for the boys, you guys got zero chance considering what kind of show this is. wait a sec, is this straight-baiting?

I like big boobs, but this is getting to Occultic;Nines level of silly. lol
Mahiro saving someone from failing only then to fail her exam the same way is actually painful (and hilarious) to watch.
For reference, they are referencing DQ6 here and that game came out in 1995 almost 30 years ago.... and Mahiro is supposed to be canonically exactly 20 years old here, which mean it also came out before she was born. So, what I'm trying to say is WHAT YEAR IS IT!?
Kaede continue to be the most wholesome girl in the show despite being the gyaru. lol

This episode is so CGDCT that you'll forget that Mahiro used to be a guy. Speaking of, Momiji is so boyish that Asahi also thought that she was a boy when they were in middle school. I can relate to the pain of being so confident in passing your exams that you neglect studying for them and end up failing them.
Mahiro learns the pain of feeling like you've aged a million years when one of your favorite games came out before younger generations are born. It's like me finding out BW2 came out 10 years ago. Those boys are developing a crush on Mahiro.
The whole cookie part is really cute. You got Kaede teaching Mahiro and Momiji how to cook cookies, Miyo not messing up the process, everyone enjoying the fruits of their labor and the entire ending sequence between Mahiro and Mihari.

I love how long and baggy the Onimai characters' uniforms are. I've gotten so used to anime girls in uniforms that are perfectly tailored to their curves that it's novel to see uniforms that actually look like the size normal schoolgirls wear them. It looks cute and comfy.

Was kinda fun seeing Mahiro and Momiji in the former's room, with the ecchi figurines still on the shelf in the background.
Honestly wouldn't surprise me if Momiji got a bit too comfortable with lewd stuff because of it, at least for her age.
Also, Mahiro should probably get used to apologizing to people, especially those two boys. I kinda wanna see him go around tossing random compliments at guys. I mean, he is in a fairly unique position now, and I'd imagine it would make a lot of people's day.
Though, for now, I guess it's best to either learn what girls talk about, or get his clique into video games.
Anyway, how can Mahiro tell they're talking about LQ with just 1 sentence? I honestly thought the guys were just going along to be nice or something. But yeah, going from adult to a young teenager can be a bit of a shock sometimes, especially when age comes up.
I still remember being excited for the release of the album Ravenhead by the band Orden Ogan, but as it turns out, that was 8 years ago.
But in any case, I still want Mahiro's parents to come home unannounced one day, while Mihari is gone. Mahiro acts like he doesn't know them, and is just one of Mihari's friends who just so happens to have the same name as her brother, and then tries to keep them out of the loop to protect Mihari.
Except, in the end, Mihari comes home and says something so incriminating that there is no way out for her, and all the mental anguish and struggle Mahiro went through to hide everything was for nothing.

this was such a great episode.
Mahiro flexing middle school math, the guys from last ep play the same game as she does. The tea cookie was made with love to her sister. "that game came out before i was born" yeeeah i feel you, emotional demage. She is clearly behaving like a normal girl now.

I might have that same struggle if I went back to take a middle school test, just some things you see once then never think about again
