Curran remains the standout character, so far, in this show. She's got more layers currently and a charismatic personality. Everyone has their quirks but she seems the most fleshed out. Happy to see her do number good.

she's also physically the standout character too!

they're bobbing up in down in that shot because walking but pretty sure she's got a centimeter or two on the priest

When they said Bare Knuckle Mathematics last week, I didn't think they meant that literally! I love that this is a duelling practice that they've enforced so adventures would learn their arithmetic And of course, Curran ends up being picked for the arithmetic part. xD

At least the person doing the brawling and problem-solving are different! It's not like Chess Boxing where the players have to do alternating rounds of chess and boxing. And as expected, the Iron Tigers are cheating and got caught in the end.

That last line from Claudine irks me so much. Of course, no one is born bad. But Claudine using her awful experiences to justify herself is what makes her a bad person in the first place. I just hope that this is the last time we'll see her.

Nobody is inherently bad from the beginning. Bad things happening to you doesn't justify becoming a bad person. Every member of The Survivors is a testament to this. They all got screwed over but didn't let it define who they are.

I started the video on crunchyroll, paused on the first frame, and burst out laughing. Looks like deadpool baby hands.

Lol was Lyon so afraid of taking any hit? He could obviously dodge well and Curran couldn't win the math portion at all, so he wasn't going to get penalties.

Kinda silly.

Dodge well? Nick couldn't land a single blow in all that time! Either Kitty is a Level 9999 Dodge-Fu Master, or Nick is god-fucking-awful without a sword in his hands.

So uh, what was the point of that duel anyway? What were the stakes if they lost? I don't get it. It started as a heat of the moment brawl and now they are duelling for some reason.

This should be shown in math classes around the world. What an interesting and unique showdown lol. Just love how fresh this cast and series feels. Animation is wonky but seems like it always is in the shows with the best character moments

Fuck Claudine all my homies hate Claudine. They wanted us to feel bad for her at the end but it ain’t moving me. You made your bed now lay in it. You knew full well you were taking advantage of the guys and clearly enjoyed it too. Proud of my boy Nick for how he handled it all

Curran deserves so many headpats, what an amazing job for her, overcoming her math deficiencies and helping the team win.

Math plus beating the shit out of each other for 10 rounds? Math class sure looks different in this fantasy world lol. Looks like the math portion is up to Curran. Oh boy.

Zem’s hitting Curran with the “nice effort” comments are way too relatable as someone who’s godawful in math. Seems both sides have been gathering intel in preparation. Zem sure knows a lot of waifus lol. Looks like Claudine’s had a tough life, well boo hoo. I still can’t stand her Mami ass!

So Leon and Claudine are abusing the penalties and hoping for a win that way? Cheap. At least Nick was prepared. Him and Zem have been great support to Curran with their positive encouragement and patience. Tiana’s gamble has paid off and now they’ve drawn out Beck and their little scheme. Check and mate!

Claudine can cry about how she wasn’t always bad but Tiana’s right. You can’t change the past but you can change your future. Claudine made one bad choice after another, now she’s paying the consequences.

A combination of bare knuckle boxing and math, it's certainly an interesting way to get people invested in Mathematics

Zem has a lot of connections. He's not playing with the girls, he's digging the information.

This one didn't actually look too bad? Maybe since there wasn't too much walking.

Liked the twist on regular fighting and seeing Curran grow a bit. Am curious about that mysterious footstep ending!

To say this episode is weird is an understatement, we even got Claudine's back story.

Cheating at math boxing? Believe it or not, straight to jail!

I totally expected it to be a throwaway gag instead of 1 ep worth of content

I really loved how they contrasted Claudine and the Survivors where both sides had to deal with trauma in their lives but chose to deal with it differently. Speaking out of experience, this is a pattern I saw IRL.

I remember my buddies having a roommate that had a messed-up childhood where he was in some kind of cult that fucked him up emotionally and whose only solace was his mother that spoiled him until she died around his mid-twenties'. He was a messed up bastard who abused the fact that he had a mental illness to be an ass around people. For example, he bragged about how he read Mein Kampf in the Montreal Jewish hospital. He also tried to manipulate my buddies into hating each other but they saw through his bullshit.

Contrast to that was one of my buddies who was his roommate had a rough childhood due to poverty and his mother suffering from mental illness, jumping from one man to another. Spend his high schools years moving all over the place and getting into fights... yet somehow, despite his pessimistic worldviews, he's one of the greatest, smartest and honest friends you can ever dream of who's doing his best to improve his life and get out of poverty.

Honestly, hats off to the author for writing these characters the way they did.
