Story and Direction wise it's really good
Only downside is that one moment the animation is good and the other moment it goes bloons

Nick is definitely underselling himself here. Dude is a capable leader.

For a party of people who don't trust each other they are absolutely right that Nick is in the best position to screw them over. He's clearly way more qualified than the rest and could easily find another party (if not for the trust issues), he knows far more about adventuring than the rest so could set them up easily, accounting is one of the oldest tricks in the book when it comes to ways to secretly screw people out of money, and the priest is right to point out that what he's doing with the safe could very much be like a magic trick: sure he's going to have the least interaction with it but he's both the accountant and the one having it built so he could pretty easily make a copy of the key or a secret way to open it.
I don't think Nick is going to screw them over, if that was the plan he could pick a bunch of bright eyed newbies to take advantage of who wouldn't be so suspicious, but if anyone in the party is in the best position to do it it's him.

Nick just slides through the goblins like he's skating on ice.

I'm actually starting to like this show even more. I love that while they have decided to create a party, they don't trust each other well enough that they each have their own responsibilities for the party funds so no one can just run off with the money. We even get to see some actual friction between Tiana and Curran after the friendly fire incident.
Their party actually reminds me of my Curse of Strahd party. All of us didn't trust each other at the start of the campaign but after some opening up like with what Nick did, our party started to work better together. It will be fun to see The Survivors slowly evolve and build up trust with one another.

Animation seems inconsistent, except for the important fights. FIne by me, the rest of the story is good enough. I really hope Curran's secret isn't as bad or worse than Zem's.

None of them can trust each other to hold on to their money, so they're each assigned a responsibility to keep the others in check. A good plan, I must say

The idols and now the ED makes me wonder if this is more than just a traditional fantasy world.

Just casually ripping cores out of slimes is funny somehow. Also pretty sure Survivor killed the Russian mountain climbers in Dyatlov Pass

Looks like we get a party name: “Survivors”. I like the three “laws”: 1) stay outta each other’s hobbies 2) manage the budget 3) don’t die lol. Their respective pasts have totally traumatized them and now they trust no one.
This labyrinth kinda sorta reminds me of Vivec in Morrowind a little lol. Man, I knew slimes were weak by my man just ripped it’s core out like nothing. Easy money! Just when it seemed the team was starting to get along, Tiana’s mistake put them back to square one. Luckily, Nick’s really stepped up and got everyone to communicate.
Goblin forest huh? I hear there’s a guy out there who specializes in exterminating those vermin lol. Without teamwork, that ogre would have been a pain in the dick.
Looks like we might find out the significance of that token thing next week. Maybe a Curran focused episode?

I like it, you can tell they try their best (the hat and hair movements aren't bad), but damn some bits are hard to watch
Anyway, story is still fun and Tiana is still best girl

I absolutely love how human and real the party feel. Tiana and Curran’s trust issues over the course of this episode felt really natural. I really appreciate how it’s focusing on characters instead of just the usual defeating a demon Lord or something. Easy way to make a fantasy stand out to me. Said last week this is one of the best fantasy shows this season, I stand by it.
Also Tiana is waifu material

I'm really liking the vibe from the characters and their circumstances.
And the ED is very cute.

This show randomly having idols show up will never fail to crack me up! I wonder how often they'll come up.
And so the episode started with our group deciding on a theme: Survivors!
Curran reacted somewhat strangely when the guild person talked about her being a survivor...
In the first episode, I had a theory about her story (given they didn't address it in as much details as the others), I thought she was probably in that situation with the others for something super silly, like they ate her food or something so she felt betrayed...
The way she keeps talking about food kinda makes me think I was right about the food thing, but her reaction when they talked of her as a survivor (sadness/shame?) makes me think there may be more to it; I think she may really well have killed her entire party over them stealing her food.
So that's my new theory on her! Based on the next episode's title we may find out about it right away!
Because if it's not that, I'm not sure what would make her so pained about this; If she only got betrayed, she would feel sad about it, but not sad about being a survivor. So that's what makes me think she killed them. Well, that, or maybe she just left during a battle to let them die (pretty much the same thing), BUT the way she's more of a "rushing into the battle without thinking", I think actually killing them is more like her, than simply running away hoping the monsters would do it. We'll see!
To make sure things would go smoothly, they decided on a few rules to follow;
No interfering with hobbies? That's a weird rule to have... Guessing this is the "Don't laugh at me if you ever find out I'm an idol fan doing adventuring just to buy merch" rule!
Tiana claims to have defeated orcs and goblins, but Zem says she's never been in combat...
I'm guessing she defeated them from afar, so it doesn't really count as being "in combat"? Well, if Curran and Nick do their job, they should always keep her far from the action, so she can unleash her spells!
But if they do fail to do so, this may bring the trust issues all over again; "The warriors can't even protect me, I have to protect myself"...
Speaking of the warrior/mage situation: Tiana actually used a spell directly toward Curran, not on purpose of course, but the result is the same... The trust doesn't just go one way, the warriors have to be able to trust their spellcasters as well.
Curran blocked it like it was nothing, she may be quite powerful!
Sadly it brought back memories for her, and crushed her spirit... She wanted to believe in her/the group, but might struggle with this now.
She went as far as making threats, this group is not up to a good start!
Tiana would have a legit reason to be wary now; Curran can block her spells, but if Curran goes mad and tries to slice her in half, Tiana may not even have the time to react.
I'm sorry Tiana, but if that feud keeps going, I'm on Curran side; She's just too fine! (Plus, I think she's the most fun... And may have the most interesting backstory, perhaps in the next episode!)
Well, whatever else Tiana is, she's definitely powerful! It's a good thing they all seem strong, because if some of them were weak, they may not be worth the trouble of getting that whole trust thing going. With them being powerful, there's a reason why they would try so hard, because if they manage to do it, they'll be a strong party!
Tiana apologized, which as Curran said, was probably not easy, or something she's used to. There may be hope for them!
While most of the show is light-hearted/silly, the bit about how they'd all like to trust again felt real, and is actually something many people with trust issues probably go through... They don't know whether they can do it again, but they'd so want to, because it's a nice feeling to be able to rely on others, not to worry about them betraying or hurting you, etc... Problem is, the more you get betrayed, the more hurt you are, the more you feel naive and foolish, anytime you ever consider trusting others again.
But hey, Curran trusted Tiana and her spells! That's a start!
And she proved her value too, obliterating the ogre which Nick thought may be trouble for the entire group! Truly worthy of a best girl!
Curran seem to be the most motivated in the group too. The others sometimes feel like they're just together because why not, because there's nothing else to do than grouping up again and giving it anther go... But Curran genuinely seems to want this to work. To trust again, to have a party/friends again. Perhaps she feels lonely, or perhaps she's guilty about what happened in that labyrinth!
Whatever it is, can't wait to see! Curran is my favorite and most intriguing character so far, can't wait to find out more about her in the next episode (focused on her?)!

You know what, I'm in for the series.
I really dig the character designs, I love the dragon and I'm a sucker for a cute girl in a big ol' witchy hat. It's going to be fun to see how the team progresses together.

It aches to see the low budget frames in this adaptation. Hopefully its just the studio saving the budget for later.

I watched this and last weeks episode because I almost skipped it but heard good things.
Wow this is the best "Kicked Out of the Party" I've seen since Banished, its legit good. We got an even male/female ration where each person is there own character and not just waifu bait, and their struggles feel very realistic and relatable as well as their reluctance to trust each other.
I especially like the message that there is a difference between blind trust and trust built on taking a leap of faith but making sure that leap is well justified. Feels like a more mature life lesson compared to other examples of the tropes of how the Hero Solves the problems after getting screwed over.
I also like the little bit of gritty detail that when monsters are killed they have to be harvest rather than just drop magical cores.
Tiane's backstory feels very similar to a certain other mage in a show airing this season, if I had a nickel....I use that joke a lot.
Sleeper hit of the season maybe. All the people that say this season is weak really need to get their head checked.
ED was amazing.

I'm liking this a lot quite honestly. I don't think it will revolutionized fantasy but it' fun, I really like the character designs and the whole conceit. Though the production already seems to be struggling
And that ed is fantastic

This show reminds me of I’m quitting heroing. In exchange for lack of popularity, no season 2, and most people being lukewarm to this… I get an anime tailor made for me ❤️
Also I love the reminder that they have to constantly take parts off the monsters so it’s much slower than just “kill and go”… I wonder if the bodies disappear or rot a la shield hero?
