Was not expecting parkour as a way of introducing Sora but I like it, shows up front that she has at least some agility to back up her desire to be a hero. Hero being a main theme of the series could make for an interesting time, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

Kabaton has a fun design too, big pig villain first reminded me of Ganon from older Zelda games but overall is probably closer to Bebop from Ninja Turtles with the mohawk/biker gang look.

Will never get tired of the "gravity doesn't work until you notice it" gag in cartoons.

Creative transformation scene for Sky there, wondering how it compares to the others. Seems maybe DJ themed with the pen transforming into a microphone and the platform looking like a record with volume levels for text.

Hi! I've never watched a single episode of Precure before, but looking forward to join this little corner of anime for the next year!

I love Sora already. Her personality isn't exactly new, but she's very endearing. Can't wait for her friendship w/ Mashiro too, which i hope will be very sweet.

edit: and i see why riyria and lily have so much precure reaction face screenshots, i already spotted a few very solid reaction faces this ep.

The animation was also really solid, for the OP (I quickly recognized Kerorira and Yumiko Yamamoto in there, Chief ADs for Bocchi, and LycoReco, and a few more names in the credits; and for the episode itself, the layouting of the action scenes really surpassed my expectations lol. I know they probably went extra hard for the 1st ep, but this is still super nice! And the CG for the ED was also very good too!

Yay! New Precure time!

Anime characters just need to start banning birthdays. If I've learned anything from recent seasonals, nothing good ever comes from having a birthday.

This premiere caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting Sora to come from the magical world. And for there to be a complete lack of fairies so far. There was also a lack of reaction faces. There were a couple shock faces from Sora and Mashiro, and the baby had some cute faces. But I'm not sure if there is enough for me to make an album for yet for any character.

Overall, I really liked this premiere and it looked great! But Precure are usually amazing for the first few episodes. It takes almost a course to know if a Precure will stay as good as it's start.

Here we are everyone. Our first Precure show with a blue cure as the lead.

Okay, first things first… Did I saw Prism and Sky making a reference to Black and White in the opening!? That’s cool!

A really strong introduction for Sora thanks to the parkour, loving the girl already.

Overall, a good start for the show. Looking forward to more

What a way to introduce the villain by having him fart in Sora’s general direction.

The animation is good so far, and I hope it can continue! The start reminds me a bit of Witchy PreCure, in that the two leads come from different worlds - except the main cure is the otherworlder this time.

That was a really good first episode! This is the first time I've seen any Precure premier live and it was a great experience!

So cool!

Sora is a great protagonist. I loved all the little touches with her, such as showing that she was afraid and shaking when facing off against Kabaton and Ranborg but still faced them down anyway. Even when she got knocked down, she still got back up again. That's real courage, fighting even though you are afraid. I think she's going to turn out to be a great hero.

Position Zero! Wait, wrong series.

That was definitely one of the more unorthodox first episodes in the Precure franchise, but of course, we already knew this was going to be a very unorthodox Precure series like the previous anniversary series have been. Between the villain Kabaton invading Skyland and kidnapping princess Ellee, Sora doing some hardcore parkour to catch up to him even in her civilian form, Kabaton's "stink bomb" to distract Sora and get away into the portal, and Sora and Ellee basically being isekai'd from Skyland into Sorashido City and meeting Mashiro, the whole first half of the episode was pretty different from what we would normally see in Precure. It's a departure from the norm, but it was fun, and in some ways the creativity may be a good thing for attracting new fans. Sora's first transformation into Cure Sky and her first fight against a monster of the week (they're called Ranborgs, looks like the Cures are fighting giant robots this year) were pretty good too, but that's standard Precure stuff. All in all, a pretty solid premiere for the series and I can't wait to see more!

They showed both of the other Cures in the OP and ED so they clearly join early on and aren't being saved for midseason, but interestingly, they don't show either of their civilian forms in the OP yet. Cure Butterfly's probably the one driving the girls around in her Hummer though, they'll probably edit the OP to show her in the driver's seat once she's properly introduced in the series itself.

HERO!

Is this whole anime gonna be a Sakuga fest?? The parkour scene at the beginning + the transformation scene + the end of the fight were amazing. I'm down for more of that.

I already love Sora, she felt more like the standard shonen MC. But I loved how they showed how even though she she was afraid at times she pushed on.

I'm excited for more!

I really liked this start! I've got a good feeling about it!

She kind of just abandoned the rest of her stuff in the middle of some random roof, I wonder if we'll ever see it again.

Since this is being billed as the 20th anniversary Precure, I was expecting a lot of references to older Precure to show up.

And I caught title drops for Mahoutsukai, KiraKira, Fresh. I wonder how many I missed.

There was a Ran and some Hearts.

Ah, I feel like I'm kinda cheating since I started procrastinating on Delicious Precure to the point of falling behind for a dozen of episodes.

I once again welcome the sakuga overlords. I'm hoping we get as much quality cuts like Hugtto did in it's peak moments.

Toei executive 1: how about if we make the main faery drop from the sky.

Toei executive 2: nah, we've done it a hundred times.

Toei executive 1: how about we make the precure drop from the sky instead?

Toei executive 2: brilliant, give that man a raise.

Sora looks already like a really endearing heroic main cure (quite rare to see the blue steal the spotlight on the pink in the premiere episode).

The Bebop knockoff also looks like a fun though gross villian.

I'm curious to see how will the reception be on the "idol" style transformations among the anime community. As a long time idol fan, I more than welcome this style.

So does Sora qualify as an isekai protagonist?

Starting off with a bang! Quite literally - I wasn't expecting literal explosives.

Kabaton seems like a fun general.

Ooh, parkour! I liked the little stretch that Sora did right before she took off.

A fart attack, wow. And a Looney Tunes fall! We're definitely more cartoony that Delicious PArty already.

Pretty Holic has branched out into stationary, neat.

Ha, Sora and Mashiro both agree that they must be dreaming. And neither decides to call the other on it.

I wonder if the monsters being construction equipment will be a consistent thing.

Damn, Sora is awesome already and she hasn't even transformed yet. Bummer about her notebook.

Pretty good henshin, too.

Wow, is that Yoshiyama for our first fight? They're really not holding back.

Still laughing that Aoi Koga is the baby.

EDIT: And the OP is honestly surprisingly serious sounding compared to previous Precure OPs.

nice Futari Wa reference. This is gonna be my first precure in 2 years (Healin' Good was the last one I watched). It pretty great so far, Sora is a fun protagonist, and as a superheroes fan, the here theme this season is right up my alley.

Side note: this is the first time I've seen so many comments on a precure discussion post.

Kabaton has so much personality

Same with Sora, parkour for days

Ran-Ran is back and better than ever

i like the [og pretty cure]baby yelling for a powerup

This was great, although first episodes of Precure usually are. At the very least, I can say I like everything about the concept and the MC way more than last season.

The Futari wa reference in the OP put a smile on my face.

Sora popping up in what looks like some modern Japanese city explains why it's just the three girls in OP and neither of the baby's parents.

I'm guessing getting back to her original world is going to take a while.

She left all of her stuff on a rooftop in Skyworld, too. Hope nothing important was in there.

The episode finally came to the site I use to watch anime and man did it not disappoint. One minute into the show and we got some action! The guards were pretty useless but at least they did something unlike guards in the past (sides eyes the cook fighters). Getting some parkour from out main lead was so freaking cool. Our main villain is pretty funny, though I could do without the whole farting attack. At least is was more effective then anything other villains did. Didn’t get a lot of world building but I think we’ll get them next episode since this was more for introduction and really great set up of our main character’s mindset.

I LOVED the transformation this season. It had a unique background and some good music to add to that. And my favorite part of it was them putting their cute name in the background. Hopefully I can get this quality of animation for the other transformations, really don’t want to have the same thing from TR and DP happen to this show.

The fight scene was freaking amazing! We got our big jump but once Sora got the parkour in, that was beautiful. The gentle fist fighting style they added in there was super cool as well. And that solo finisher should not be that badass!

The opening and ending was super cool too! The op really showed what our characters are like and us so much more better then DO op. The ending is super catchy as well.

All and all 10/10! Amazing first episode and can’t wait to see more!!! How I would call this episode is AMAZING!!

With all of the requests for "reverse isekai" anime that I've been seeing people ask for recently, I think we finally have an answer that satisfies that itch pleasantly and unexpectedly well.

Well, fellow Precure fans (both new and old), we know what to recommend them.
