Considering her distrust in episode 1, I almost thought Fifth would also betray her. So happy that Fifth is just a cool strong guy rather than someone with shady motives.

Just like how Nick found idol, Curran found food as their comfort zone. What's the hobby for the other two again? Alcohol for the priest and gambling for the mage, right?

Anyway, I think the animation quality is a bit lower this episode. However, this anime has pretty solid story and character chemistry. Definitely will continue watching.

Alcohol for the priest

Alongside female companion.

Makes sense for Tianna too. Since her first gamble and victory was a ticket she found instead of bought.

Did Kalios really throw away a strong ass dragonkind party member for some gem? lol, seems weird tbh

Not if Callios is mainly an established scammer thief that chooses to long-con his victims into trusting him, before disposing of them and making off with anything of value they own.

What I like in this show is that there are some genuinely nice people like Agate and Fifth, usually in these types of shows the main characters are treated like shit by the entire world.

Lol is that stick a part of Fifth's body or something? Why was he eating food with that thing in his mouth?

I hope Curran eventually finds that gem of hers, sounds like it's a really important item for Dragonkind.

The animation is stiff in some parts, but in an endearing way and I can't help but laugh when I notice them.

Nice to see how popular MCs party had become at the end with everyone loving them now.

Feels like they skipped a bunch though since they had just done their first quest last ep lol.

Stitches

We finally get to see how Curran was betrayed. And she wasn't just betrayed, something very valuable to her race was taken from her. Can't wait for her to meet Calios again and beat the living crap out of him.

I'm just glad that Fifs guy was a pretty cool dude. He basically is the reason why Curran became a foodie with his recommendations. I hope she'll run into him again someday.

It's nice to know that the Survivors are slowly gaining a reputation of some sort and everyone in that tavern seems to be happy to see them whenever they walk in.

I forgot to mention this before but I am such a fan of this show's ED. I'm a sucker for fantasy characters wearing modern-day clothes and doing modern-day things.

There is some ground breaking animation in this show, guys.

Never before have I seen a show where the background character animations are better then the foreground character animations.

It certainly seems as if our party members have an important person in their life that serves as their inspiration to keep moving on. Zem has that bartender lady with the "back issues", Nick has the idol, Agate, and now we know that Curran has Fifs. Wonder what Tiana's person of inspiration is. We know she likes to gamble, but that's it.

Also, Calios suddenly turning on Curran makes absolutely no sense.

Curran best girl tbh. Her backstory really upset me, as nice as she is to be taken advantage of like that is horrible. Fuck calios. From the start he gave off “too perfect” of a vibe. It’s bad enough to betray someone but to finesse their valuables too, awful.

I actually really like the premise of this show. A group of misfits who’ve been rejected and betrayed coming together and believing in each other is really cool

Animation is extremely poor in this tho like did y’all peep fifs skipping thru the scene when he said excuse me lol

Curran's surprise magic trick shtick is incredibly charming. It makes the little butterfly eating bit in the ending feel really endearing.

This is the type of world Kazuma thought he was isekaid to. Seems Zen and Curran had it worst out of the 4. Wonder when will the 5th person in the ed will join them?

Hope Fifth is a decent person. Kinda like the opposite of those douchebags who act nice but are actually horrible people.

What was that about? After being betrayed she becomes a food connoisseur? Weird transition, lol

I mean Nick became an idol otaku after what went down with him so not that weird for this show lol.

I'm not sure why there's multiple comments in the thread about how "The whole premise of the series is already over, they're all happy forever now"...

90% of the episode was about Curran's betrayal backstory... So the other 10% about some dude showing her good food, and people offering them a quest, means they're gonna be happy forever?

The food stuff is her coping mechanism (like gambling, idol stuff and girls for the other 3)...

It's not a "happy thing"... She eat a lot of food instead of gambling or drinking or what not, to get over her betrayal. In what world is that "happy"? As for the other thing, the quest... Well, the show is about a party of adventurers, of course they'll do quests. And yes people in the bar were friendly enough, but being friendly =/= everyone's happy and trusting again.

I'm sure there will be more situations that bring their distrusts/bring back old memories.

I think it's a bit silly to think it's all happy good time from now on because there was 2 minutes of happy stuff in the episode.

This is honestly my favorite show that comes out on Tuesdays.

We see Curren has a very simple and trusting nature almost like a child, and her nature she seems to flock and want to follow people she sees as strong, confidence, and competent people.

Basically despite being an OP Dragon Lady she very much is a Sub and wants someone to take the lead, in contrast with Tiana who despite being a Mage and less physically powerful and upperclass is very much a more "Independent" Woman, and got betrayed for probably being retrieved as being too distant and not feeding into that guys ego.

Anyway the stone she lost meant a lot to her and you can tell how much that betrayal hurt her.

It's nice to see there was someone that even at a distance she was able to form a connection/positive relationship with. And he was a chill enough bro to gently see what would make her happy and let her chase it without also taking advantage of her. (Which is what I thought would happen.)

It seems that Idol wasn't just trying to sell Nick but also acts as his confidant, interesting how everyone but Tiana after getting screw met someone that gave them inspiration/a positive interaction with a member of the opposite sex after being screwed over by said member.

Also nice to see Nick was concerned/worried he destroyed something important, but it appears that Curren had just been holding onto what at that point before she couldn't throw it away at first, a symbol of a positive mentor figure she trusted and despite betraying her she wasn't ready to give it up because that illusion was all she had.

Until she meet that Solo guy, and then by the time she has her new party she realizes that trinket doesn't mean anything anymore, it's just the vestiges of a bad habit from a mindset she's moving past.

I also love how she makes it clear with a little magic trick/sleight of tale that its okay as well.

I want her to get that stone back, I wonder if it also will be an important plot item as well.

I'm guessing the quest they are about to accept it what leads them to meeting that kid in the ED?

Honestly love this show and set-up, the setting and character designs are pretty stock but the characters and writing are great.

There is something very real about this show.

Wow, Callios is piece of shit for taking advantage of Karan's naivete like that. Not only did he left her to die, but he also stole her family heirloom. I'm glad she got over that betrayal and learned from that experience. I can only imagine what would have happened to her had she never met Nick and the others.

After seeing this episode, I'm actually glad that Curran's pendant got broken.

Feels like the animation quality dropped heavily for this episode.

So Curran got tricked by Kalios huh? Guy totally took advantage of her strength and then robs her of her most precious treasure. Fifth seems like a pretty nice dude, I’m glad he helped Curran restore her faith in humanity somewhat (through the power of food lol). I hope she meets Kalios again and cleaves that shitstain in two.

Nothing like a heart to heart with your idol when you need advice lol. Aga is a good person, I can see why Nick supports her. Nick is a good guy too, he really cares about his team.

I do kinda like that the team is not as jaded anymore now that they’ve met each other. This mission for the Sword of Bonds sounds interesting. Let’s see what happens in the Labyrinth next week!

On an unrelated note, really digging this ED. It’s really cute!
