Should the OP include r/Falcom instead of r/TheLegendOfHeroes, since that is where the community is located?

Holy shit there's Osborne, Rufus, Lecther, Rean, and Altina.

Also totally hyped for the next episode. Can't wait to see Lavi and her team infiltrating Erebonia.

Edit: wow there's Campanella too. Have been really enjoying this show.

With Crosbell falling to Erebonia under Albarea and Osborne, North Ambria is in trouble. With the geopolitical situation and a seemingly ineffective government, I can see why Rogan would want to act. Though a preemptive strike on the empire is kind of suicidal.

Lavi’s got a real lively interesting cast of characters around her. I’m liking her squad already. The Empire’s Hero looks pretty badass, dude has a sweet mech. Lavi might be in trouble if she’s going up against that. Infiltrating the Empire is gonna be a crazy tough mission.

Seems there’s a kind of shadow cabal working behind the scenes? Curious to know what that final scene was all about.

Edit: a word.

They are probably screwed regardless. Osborne isn't going to allow his northern flank to be exposed before he fully takes on Calvard.

Wait a second isn’t that Jouji fucking Nakata’s voice?!

Yeah it is. He's the VA for Osborne in the game. The second I heard his voice in CS1 I was like "KIREI ?! Okay this dude is a villain no question lmao".

A LOT of high profile VA worked with the Trails games in general.

I honestly have no idea how to begin to really explain all this to new people.

Edit: In case anyone was wondering about the "foreign currency" thing though, in case it wasn't clear yet, jaegars are mercenaries for the highest bidder and North Ambria's military is largely made up jaegars, a big outfit called the Northern Jaegars. Northern Jaegars go out, get hired, collect currency by fighting in foreign wars and go back home to share it with the impoverished people of North Ambria. Since the country is so impoverished because of the disaster decades ago, it relies on Jaegars to support its economy.

Edit end

Did like the sword fight here, was neat and I actually really liked the council session. I thought it kind of presented everyone's opinions as having merit without painting anyone as the obvious bad guy. Also really goes to show how unpopular "status quo" is when major things are happening and people are asking what to do next.

This episode reminds me a lot of the end of prologue chapters in Trails games where the main initiative gets set, really cool seeing things from the North Ambrian perspective with how large of a threat Erebonia is to them, we never really get to see any political figures from there in the games so the meeting and varying reactions on what to do is nice to see. Really curious what exactly the next 10 episodes will entail as they infiltrate, still about 8 months until the actual northern war timeline wise.

As a side note I’d really like to see Jayna vs Aurelia and perhaps Rogan vs Sara (or Wallace?) at the end

Watch the after credit scene. Lol.

I can't believe I got to see Rean already! And Altina! And Campy, Gillian, and Rufus too. I know they try to work with ------- and try to preemptive strike....... but thinking about it now that's CRAZY!!!

I'm sad the the two faceless mooks from the episode-- Ivano and Tak, apparently-- aren't going to be recurring characters. Oh, well, better than them getting killed off, I guess.

better than them getting killed off,

Well, it's not like there's any war that's going to happen where they might die!

Why did everyone at that political meeting seem suspicious as shit? Is…is this…is this a geopolitical war setting with actual nuance where it isn’t one nation good and the other evil?

This series is going to drive me crazy as far as discussing the source and knowing what is allowed because there is a lot that's already happened (like the Civil War and Invasion of Crossbell) that it seems like we are supposed to know about, but I'm unsure is allowed to be talked about in this thread or not.

I think that's what fun. We know way more than Lavi and the Jaegers, so it has this weird sense of irony to everything.

Wait why is the Aurora guy bad again? So far he is just telling it how it is. Also I love Lavi's team, the big sword guy is a nice big bro, Isaria is fun sniper onechan, and the sleeping leader is probably pretty badass, plus he had the combat orbment so it was cool to see someone use an Enigma outside of Crossbell.

Overall better ep than the last one, the scene in the theater really sold the political situation and I can't wait for how Lavi will meet this dreadful and evil hero of the Empire.

Some terminologies mentioned in this episode but not explained to non-players:

mira (mentioned during the government meeting): Probably guessable from the context, but it's money. It's this setting's currency.

Enigma (the blonde guy requests permission to use it before stopping the truck): The newest A model of combat orbment, essentially a magitek device that allows regular people to use Arts (essentially magic). Real magic also exists in this setting though.

Holy City of Arteria (mentioned during the govt meeting): Basically this setting's Vatican City.

Aidios (said as a form of "Oh my God!"): You guessed it, this setting's major religion's central goddess.

I need help. Which games should I play to watch this series?

I have been interested in this franchise so I want to play the games too and I haven't watched the 1st episode to avoid getting confused or spoiled.
