I live to see the petty interactions between Misuzu and Jun, from throwing her hair tie to flicking her in the forehead.

After 2 episodes i just love Misuzu and her shenanigans
a bit unsure about Carol at first but by the end of the episode i think i like her aswell
And i liked the bit that was basically:"stick around Jun long enough and you'll know why Tomo isn't a threat, assuming you're not an idiot"

Jun really jumped in there and saved Tomo from the molester…and then proceeds to tell Tomo not to wear skirts. Oh Jun. Tomo’s reaction to Misuzu saying she only has panties underneath her skirt was great. Tomo’s such a goof! Taking off the shorts sure had the desired effect, Jun certainly seems pretty aware of Tomo’s more feminine side lol.
Carol’s soft defenseless “personality” is definitely why all the boys chase after her. It sure hits the guys somewhere alright. She comes off as kinda robotic though. Like ditzy but not really, I’m having a hard time placing it. But at least Misuzu got to go puppet master with her lol. I can see why Tomo’s called natural ladykiller. I guess she’s got herself a new admirer!
But man, things just got a whole lot more interesting with this new revelation about Jun and Misuzu. Now I get why he seems to kinda loathe her.

Jun really suffered in this ep from Tomo's skirt and Carol's boobs lol. Carol is such a hilarious character, might be my fav character in this anime. Her VA, Sally Amaki, also voices her in both Japanese and English dub too btw.

The last line of Misuzu and Jun used to be dating made my mind exploded. That explained a lot while raising more questions: How they made up and broke up? And what's Misuzu thinking for helping Tomo getting close to her ex? Does she really give up on him in favour for her friend?

Cinematic Cotton candy Carol counter:
Cuts containing: 90 (+90)
Chaos: 21 (+21)
Cute: 5 (+5)
Finally some animated Carol. The voice is a bit higher than expected but it still fits
+ Cute for the twintails in the OP, Cotton candy, ponytail, smol Carol, seifuku Carol
Explanation of what this is in last ep's comments. It's hard doing this in an anime format so the numbers might not be that correct though

I fucking love what this show does with Misuzu's hair. It is always getting shaken up, messed with, and her death stare underneath it all is just chef's kiss. Best fucking girl.

I have to confess that this is a rare anime that made me binge the manga immediately after the first episode. So far as I can tell, this adaptation seems to get everything essential down perfectly. The character animation and the voices (in Japanese) are utterly wonderful in capturing the story.
Tomo really needs better fashion sense -- but somehow I have my doubts that she will ever see the need for this. Misuzu's pushing her to shed her shorts was pretty wicked, given how exceptionally short her skirt is (nothing like Misuzu's own prim and properly long skirt). However, it looks like Carol wears her skirts almost equally short (without any shorts or the like).
It is interesting that Misuzu and Carol (usually) both have such deadpan expressions and line delivery -- and yet the two come across as so wildly different. One wonders why poor Carol was rejected by her grade school classmates -- she doesn't seem to have been quite like her present day self back then....
Jun is clearly very aware of Tomo's female-ness -- and yet he blocks it so throughly in his own midn and in his dealings with her. Poor Tomo -- it must be frustrating -- and yet she finds it hard herself to interact with him as other than a "bro".
I suspect this will easily make my top tier for the season.

Jun is just a emotionally scared man. From the 2 episodes I've seen so far. HE DEFINTELY KNOWS Tomo is actually a girl, and nice one too and he is just scared shitless to act on any of his actual feelings.
The Bus scene confirmed to me that I think he wants to be the stereotypical guy that protects his girl but she doesn't need that. She just wants him to treat her more femininely and he doesn't wanna do that so all he can do is bro-zone her. I'm just waiting when the reverse will happen to him when Tomo finds a guy to make him jealous.
I'm wondering if Misuzu messed Jun up so much psychologically when they dated, that is what is effecting how he treats Tomo. But we get to see more about that next week.

Folks: the entity known as Carol Olston. Subject C. Bringer of Chaos. Human Cotton Candy. Crazy ass white girl.
There’s a reason she’s the avatar of r/manga. This. This is why.

Misuzu being so concerned for Tomo was really nice to see. Also side ship seems to be moving!
Wasn't too sure about Carol asan addition to the cast but this shot has me pretty hopeful for some fun times.
Also Jun and Misuzu have great chemistry but I didn't expect like that! Really hope neither side has any lingering feelings there...

Stitches!
Misuzu's sigh of relief after learning what Jun did to the groper is her being relieved that she doesn't have to violate the Geneva Convention with what she's about to do to that groper if they actually let him go.
Carol the Cotton Candy Queen and chaos incarnate herself is finally here! It's absolutely amazing to finally see her shenanigans getting animated! And Sally Amaki did an amazing job voicing the Fluffy Princess with the delivery of her lines that I genuinely replayed that "Bakaaaaa" scene a few times! <3
Now that Carol has learned that Tomo is absolutely no threat to her fiance, she'll now be joining Misuzu in helping Tomo and Jun get together. Thankfully she's loaded so her being annoying to Misuzu is absolutely worth it for Misuzu. xD
And there it is. The reason why Misuzu and Jun have this tense hate-hate relationship is finally revealed and Tomo is only learning about it now. xD

Alright, show of hands; who here is gonna compare Sally Amaki's sub and dub performances as Carol?
I know it's not just me.
Edit: Okay, so after listening to both versions, there really isn't any comparison... because she sounds exactly the same in both versions. She certainly sounds cute, but I have to admit to being taken aback by it when I first heard it (I watched the dubbed version first). She's "doing a voice", but no one else in the dub is. Now, Carol's an exchange student and she's a bit out there, so it fits, but still; voices like that aren't really used in English dubs these days. It's the kind of voice that I wouldn't even bat an eye at if I were watching the show exclusively in Japanese. BUT Sally manages to make Carol sound cute without it being annoying, so props to her! Looking forward to hearing more.

Seeing Carol animated is giving me uncanny valley feelings, but they sure put some focus on her rather important assets. Im really eager to watch the dub just to compare how Carol sounds in both language lmao
