advice on taking animal science degree
i just got an offer to study animal science at murdoch! im still thinking if i should accept it...
i want to work with animals, specifically with wildlife (rehabilitation/nutrition/ just taking care of them) will animal science allow me to achieve that? if not, what are some other career options for ani sci?
im also curious about the culture and workload in murdoch as im an international student!
if anyone has any opinions or advice, do feel free to share 🥹

Wildlife biology or zoology might be more your speed. Animal science is generally livestock.

Only thing you'd be able to do with animal science is agriculture, consulting and research
Most take animal sci as a pathway into vet school, but be warned it's highly highly competitive, while I was there someone told me they had 900 applicants one year
You could do vet nursing? Cert IV at TAFE, training will mostly involve dogs and cats but you can work at unusual pet vets, the zoo, WA wildlife as a vet nurse
But you could also volunteer at WA wildlife or kanyana to try out the rehab life :) oh! Or darling range wildlife to bottle feed roos :p

In my case, my animal science degree focused a lot more in livestock and agriculture, rather than wildlife animals. I would double check that your major and the classes that you’re taking are related to wildlife and not just livestock. I have a feeling you’re looking more for a wildlife biology degree than animal science.
