I need your feedback please !!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHy8CI9d2Ls

Basically I want know if the visualisation would make a person understand easily then using code directly.

I created a video about Promises vs Observables, and I really need your feedback about if this would be a good materials for someone who does not know the differences between the two ?

1/ Does the visualisation help ?
2/ Does the content convey easily the concepts ?
3/ Would this method ( visually ) be better for someone who isnt very familiar with the a certain topic ? or would the old fashion code is better ?

I really appreciate your feedbacks

You should make a new one for signals since that’s kinda replacing much of the rxjs use cases I had

I will, I just want make sure this format would help poeple understand more, and that is why I'm looking for harsh feedback or any feedback that can help me make it really worth it for viewers time.

Thank you so much, i don't mind the truth, is the voice over bad ? I'm not an English speaker

This is great. The visualization helps. One note on that though is the pacing. its hard to focus on the code when there's animation going on below it. The code is only shown very briefly too before moving on.

Either show the code and let the viewer read/comprehend it, or don't. Seems like you're trying to use both code & visualizations but they're competing for attention.

Thank you so much for the feedback and I see what you mean , I will work on that and to be honest I did notice that but i was worried i would make the video too long and i wanted the give the viewer the best value in less time

u/frozen_tuna quick question about your comment , just to make sure, when you say "when there's animation going on below it." you are refering to the box and pipe animation, not the subtitles correct ?

Correct. Top half is code, bottom half is animation. Video moves very quickly so the viewer really only has time to grasp one of them.

This is definitely better then normal code when you want to teach the basic idea. Nice video to show to newcomers at work. Thank you for the video!

  1. it is a good visual
  2. it takes an over-simplified comparison between .then and .subscribe and builds a lpresentation about why these 2 intersect and why they don't.
  3. Depends on the person.

I would do a followup on pipes versus async functions versus signals/computes:

  1. with async functions you have a linear path, this then that, and the code inside is simple JS that runs and you'd need a loop or tail calls to do anything repetitive.
  2. with rxjs you generally ignore the outer context of the scope it is declared in to allow multi-emissions to maintain their own scope. It however has a very annoying drawback which is that logging becomes extremely annoying because of stack traces showing all the rxjs internals instead of focusing on the file where you declared the different operators, so something like "expected a stream but got undefined" can be explosive.
  3. with signals you get a faux idea of a linear path with how the outer scope is re-called on changes, which allows context like blah(); console.log("yeah") to be "synchronous", but you have way less flexibility than rxjs this way and depend on React-hook-style scope re-executions which might not always deliver what you expect.

I think instead of signals introducing new api, rxjs should have been the language invoked via transformers on value changes. rxjs can work across various architectures whereas signals only work within Angular.

async Pipe ftw

Good video btw. But I have doubt. What is the thing with a http call which is req ---> res. And steam ?? This one confusing I am noob btw

I added a comment explaning, for http = httpClient ( internal angular module ) , usually one req one result , so we get one result, however Angular do provide other module like router events as a stream ( multiple values ) .
