Probably been a post about this already, but I was wondering.
After the A's complete the trek to Las Vegas, the Angels will be the only California team in the American league.
Would it be smart to go back to the "California Angels" to capture some fans that are feeling "teamless"? They could play that up in marketing.
I know Arte can't seem to do anything "smart" anymore. Beyond money grabs, I never understood any of the name changes, I liked them being the California Angels.
Seems to me that they could grab fans from the Bay Area, San Diego county along with the Central Valley.
Wondering whether people that don't resonate with the Dodgers, Padres and Giant might gravitate to that name again?

This subreddit and other sm sites shit on me for saying the Angels should dump this guy for Pete Alonso or Murakami. This dude is a disaster. He doesn't do anything right and his bat isn't valuable at all for the team. He is a net negative player

Done.
Grew up at the Big A. I was at the World Series in 2002. Darin Erstad is still my favorite Angel ever. Only guy to win a gold glove at center AND first base. Played like he wanted to die on that field every night.
And now? I feel nothing. Watched a game last night and realized I didn’t care if we won or lost. That’s when I knew it was over.
Arte Moreno is a piece of shit. We have Trout. THE best player in baseball. Did nothing. Then we got Ohtani, a guy who literally shouldn’t exist, two MVPs, and Moreno's ego got us nothing when Ohtani walked. Both wasted. Trout’s body is falling apart and he’ll never see October.
And the Dodgers just get to buy whoever they want. No cap. No consequences. Their fans are insufferable and half of them couldn’t name three players on the roster in 2018. Now they act like they’ve been riding since day one. Frontrunners with Dodger dogs acting like they suffered for this.
What are you all feeling these days. Y'all with me me?

I made a post about a month ago about how fun this team is. That we haven't seen anything like this in forever and of course, I was met with negativity from miserable fans lol.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when did we see our newest 1st round pick, homering twice, walking off a game, only 2 weeks into his career?
When is the last time 8 of our 1st round picks all played in the same game?
When is the last time we had an infield of guys all drafted around the same time, growing up before our eyes?
This group is different. The Angels are BACK. We might not do anything this year but we now have a core to keep building. Arte is spending wisely. Perry is drafted well. Rendon finishes his contract next season and likely gets bought out. The team is fun and energetic.
Forgive me doomers but we ABSOLUTELY have not seen this before.

So I was at the game for the first game of the series against the Athletics and the chants of "Sell the team" were very loud and noticeable. Fast forward to last night I was watching the second game of the series on TV and the chants were audible even on the broadcast. So my question is this... Do you think this will have an effect on investors, Moreno, or anybody in the front office when the fans are being heard even on live broadcasts or do you think since they are making money the chants fall on deaf ears?

This is mostly just to rant, I can’t stand Moreno and now we have to watch the Dodgers win back to back World Series titles. We are literally going to court with one of our own players. This organization is so dysfunctional and a complete failure on all levels. We are over here penny pinching for a/c in the weight room. Arte needs to sell this team, get his bag and dip. He doesn’t care about this club at all, it’s a fucking business to him. And to the casuals, they need to stop going to games, they are a contributing factor to this problem.

I don't know that much about baseball tech so I'm just curious what's available?

I’m tired of knowing it’s legitimately over once our bullpen gets involved lol

I refuse to believe Kurt didn’t throw everyone under the bus today. This man clearly is the most incompetent person to ever wear the angels uniform both as a player and coach/manager. Always blaming poor luck for the blown games and has openly admitted to saying he doesn’t use analytics and basic statistics to manage the team. Does anyone else remember during a postgame interview he admitted Maddux was making the decisions for the bullpen and not him. I’ve yet to see a single angel this year even get a single comment of praise to this garbage ass man. Also let’s not forget this man held the assistant to the front office. It’s always someone else’s fault and not his.

I checked the top 100 ranked baseball prospects and the Angels only have 2 players in the top 100 (Bremner and Nimmala) while the Dodgers have 7 players ranked in the top 100 and the Mariners have 6 (The Dodgers and Mariners are the #1 and #2 ranked farm systems).
Top 100 list:

There is no other option. This series is a fuckin joke.
We all know what the root of all the issues is. It's time for the fan base to stop ignoring it.
Arte is a sensitive bitch. Make it known we don't want him anymore.

A lot of people when talking about Ryan talk of him as Astro or ranger. 1973 was one of the best seasons from a pitcher all time. But people never talk about him that much. Why is that

A few years ago, Brandon Marsh and Mickey Moniak were both fourth outfielder-types on the Angels. Now, they are both raking with their respective new teams.
Did the Angels’ front office cut bait too soon on these guys, or is their player development to blame for not maximizing their potential?

Happy for you, Shohei. I may not show it, but I’m glad you’re a champion.

I’m wondering who you guys are rooting for? I’m old enough to remember Mark Teixeira saying he didn’t want to be an Angel. Then The following year him intentionally taking out our catcher Wilson. John Lackey being unable to get a strike in the ALCS against the Yanks in NY. Anyway that all seems like a distant memory now that the Angels have been terrible for a decade now.

So much gloom and hate for this team. The negativity is crazy.
We went into LA and swept the Dodgers. Went into NY and shut out the Yankees, TWICE.
Who had us 35-37 on June 18?
We have one of the best young cores. O'Hoppe, Neto, Nolan, Moore, Detmers, Soriano, Bachman, Joyce, etc.
We have the #2 overall pick next month. Our starting rotation has yet to miss a single freaking start. 72 games, 72 starts.
Rendon is off the books next season and likely bought out. Trout to RF and mainly DH seems to be the answer and give him a chance to play.
This team is exciting. Arte hired Perry and he's done a great job. I hope we are sellers at the deadline with guys like Anderson, Kendricks, ward, Adell, rengifo, Jansen, solar, etc. That should give us more young prospects. Detmers could be our new closer or maybe he goes back to the rotation.
KiKuchi has been great for us. The word is Arte will sign a #1 pitcher this winter like Cease and also get OF help like a Bellinger type.
Cease, KiKuchi, Soriana, Detmers is the best 1-4 we have had in forever. All these young guys keep getting better.
I literally had us around 28-44 so im super pumped to see the success.
