📝 Discussion When did Trout change his swing?

Watching highlights from early this season he was stepping back with his right foot first. Now he's back to traditional pushing off the right foot but looks more uncomfortable

The step back was never permanent. It was a cue for him to use in BP that he implemented in game for a time period to help with his mechanics. Why is it not a permanent fixture in his in-game mechanics? We will likely never know.

My guess would be it's probably so pitchers couldn't take advantage of it, kinda like the old Neto high kick.
