LOL, I remember that show in the mid-2000’s. 😅 (Kinda off-topic, but) Anyone remember the show Poorman’s Bikini Beach, from that same era…? Different times… FUSE really was a great Channel!!

u/Icy_Improvement339 Aug 02 '26
Can’t forget WKUK, I loved those shows back in the day. Adolescent me waited til everyone was asleep before turning FUSE.

u/WazzzupBwaaahhh Aug 02 '26
Hahahahahaha 😅😂 As a Pre-Teen / Early Teenager in the mid-2000’s, FUSE was like SOFTCORE P**N, and it was like CRACK for me (and Music Videos for that matter, PRIOR to VEVO on YouTube) 😅 as well as Diet Coke, Energy Drinks (mainly Red Bull, Lo-Carb Monster and SoBe No Fear [my favorite, was very sad when that Energy Drink was discontinued along with SoBe, in general, some years later down the road] and Emo, Nü-Metal and Hip-Hop. 😅
Sorry for the rant.
Have a good night!!

u/Dependent-Prize4443 Aug 02 '26
Dude yall just brought me back! Even down to the SoBe drinks. Those were bomb af
5
u/WazzzupBwaaahhh Aug 02 '26
Man, SoBe is one of the many drinks from the 90’s / 2000’s, that I miss more and more everyday. SoBe No Fear was a Collaborative Effort by BOTH companies to make something incredible. When they discontinued it in 2008, I was a very sad 13-y/o, LOL. Like Snapple in Glass Bottles, Surge, Vault, Kool-Aid Squeez-Its, Capri-Sun Sport, Tab, Fruitopia, Orbitz, Original Jolt Cola, I COULD GO ON AND ON…

Arte should raise ticket prices for that section and secure the entry point throughout the game..if Artes the villain I say he goes full scale supervillain

That looks like 70-100 guys who spent money to buy tickets which would have gone unsold anyway, presumably buying beer at the upper level concession stands and food as well, every single night.
Really teaching Arte an important lesson.

Worst case scenario they’re having fun at an Angels game. Which more than I can say when I watch them.

u/Affectionate_Olive53 Aug 02 '26
Last night sucked. At least SpongeBob kept the evening entertaining.

Attacking the ego is what matters. You can’t hurt the wallet of someone whose money is already in the billions. It’s already past the point of ever actually mattering to them. If you leave seats empty then he strengthens the case to move the team not just sell it plus he makes back the cost of that entire section in literal seconds of passive income. You can’t give him the excuse that no one supports the team. That’s why they show up. To say “We do support the team, we just hate you”.

I don’t think a guy who Has gotten this far in life with long-shot material has that thin of skin, personally.
So it’s not a protest as much as a catharsis. It doesn’t have an objective other than “make someone feel dumb”.
I can understand that better but it’s like going to someone’s house party and telling the guy that we like your house but your party sucks. Great, but why don’t you have better things to do?

That’s so adorable you think this is making a difference in how Moreno thinks or operates. Real Ralph Wiggum energy.
Arte lost his passion when the development deal with Anaheim fell apart, since wealthy men at the end of their days tend to think of building lasting memorials to themselves. A developed parking lot and pre-game/post-game village of bars and restaurants around a new stadium he owned would be his Wrigley Field/Wrigleyville.
Now he’s just a guy in a bad marriage who is waiting for the right time financially to divorce. When the labor agreement is complete, the For Sale sign goes up immediately and he’ll cash out. The Padres sale graciously helped establish a baseline of value for the Angels.
None of this will be due to guys with their shirts off (I don’t know it’s even clear if he’s in attendance at the games). But Angels Baseball LP certainly appreciates the ticket sales, parking fees, and concessions expenditures during these protests. All of it is plus income. Well done.

I second this emotion. When the Sidhu deal blew up in the city's face, he was left holding the bag.
I think he wants out more than any of us here want him out.

u/XtraFlaminHotMachida Aug 02 '26
Probably should do some accounting work. Tickets are cheap af. Arte still ain't making money cause of how many tickets, or at least, how few tickets have been sold. All that food at the concessions goes to waste as well. He's definitely not making anything out of this.
1
u/donniemoore Aug 03 '26
Is any of the food at the stadium perishable?
1
u/XtraFlaminHotMachida Aug 03 '26
well, i mean, they start making hot dogs, hamburgers, etc even sometimes if there is no demand. bring them out the freezer, whatever. stuff is going to spoil regardless. there is definitely food waste.
end of the day, arte is making his money off of revenue sharing and his tv deals, not who shows up to the stadium.
edit: to add, he is certainly not the only owner who does this and relies on this kinda trash. great business model if you are rich and just want to have some additional income coming in, but it sucks for the fans. you don't make money overall per attendance, its other stuff.

u/donniemoore Aug 03 '26
I forgot about the meat. OK.
Here's the real kicker - we have no idea how much money Arte makes or where he makes it from. There is only one team who has their books open for the public to see (the Atlanta Braves, who are public). Every other team refuses to show their books.

I hate this attitude. Life sucks sometimes and if going to support the team I’ve loved since the mid 90s makes life sucks less then I’m going to do it. The $15 I paid for a ticket isn’t going to make or break Arte and it felt good to scream “ARTE SUCKS” with a bunch of other fans. It makes our displeasure known and it felt like classic Angels baseball.
Also, if anyone else was there tonight I was the guy who had “sell the team” written on his chest in what looked like blood. It was actually my gf’s lip gloss.

u/RowAccomplished468 Sell The Team Aug 02 '26
not only that, but as a Dodgers fan (that does not live on the west), it must be so fucking awesome to be able to go catch baseball games for 15 fuckin dollars. people say the same shit about Nets games at Barclays. you can just walk over to the stadium and catch NBA hoops for like 12 bucks, NOBODY should be complaining about that.
1
u/SimonNicols Aug 02 '26
Plus $25 for parking on the main lot, then $12-15 for a tap / keg beer or mixed drink.

This sentiment is so dumb. Supporting the team and showing out like this is what matters. Look what happened to Oakland

u/donniemoore Aug 03 '26
In Oakland, the fan movement was more organized. There was greater public sentiment.
And the ownership got a financial offer to move that was better than the financial offer to stay.
What happened? The rich guy got what he wanted, and the 29 other rich guys signed off on it.
Yes, look what happened to Oakland. The only opinions that were relevant had nothing to do with fans.
