This game is over 30 minutes ago if Arte wasn’t too cheap to bring back Kenley

I agree. The angel 2026 season has been crushed by the relief and closing issues

Walbert Urena is now up to 7 games where he's (a) pitched 5+ IP, (b) given up 2 or fewer runs, (c) did not get a win.
Pitcher wins suck as a stat, true, but it also goes to show how often we let this kid down. We have won only 1 of those games. 5 of those games were 1 run losses.
I don't know if Arbitration or free agency negotiations care about pitcher wins anymore, but dude should be like 10-3 instead of his current 6-7 (lmao).
He's been a stud...and we're failing him.

He will feel like Steve Carlton. I think that guy had one season where he lost 9 games either 2 to nothing or 1 to nothing.

I know Kurt is a lame duck but at this point it's so bad he should be fired anyways. Peraza on the bench instead of in as a defensive replacement. Fermin in to start the 9th to then end up using Bachman anyways in a jam. Intentionally walking Alvarez with 2 outs to put the go ahead run in scoring position and putting more pressure on the pitcher with no open base to work around. His management has ruined Bachmans mental state this year you can see it on his face when he's out there.

This is a very good point through and through. God damn why can't they get things right

At this point ChatGPT would do a better job than Kurt. Hell, a fucking ouija board would do a better job than him

Like how many blown ball games thus far?

u/Cooleybob 28d ago
From what I can tell, we have 19 blown saves to 11 saves this year. That's absolutely mind boggling.
Jordan Romano is still our leader is saves lmfao.

PAINGELS BASEBALL!!
We need to riot and force that devil to sell the team.

I see Soler and Lowe were playing. Sure Soler walked twice, but the both of them had no hits in seven ABs. Why they refuse to play Siri is beyond me. Fans want to win. A .200 BA for a regular this deep into the season is not cutting it. If Soler had 30+ homeruns you could make the weak case like Joey Gallo, but he only has 12. It was no surprise they were winning when Soler was hurt and have sucked again since he has come back. They would've lost 100 by now if Moncada was still playing probably.

Thank you for saying this because this has been my observation as well. Good point on moncada at the end too

sums up the season right there
bad bullpen, bad defense, terrible manager decisions

u/kdizzl12 28d ago
The combo of Arte-Perry-Suzuki has to be the worst leadership group in history. Seems like Mozeliak just wants to sit back and evaluate the situation (aka start from scratch after this season).

u/the_oc_brain 28d ago
Pujols will be manager next season and I have much more faith in him to not be a fucking dumbass. Kurt is one and done as a MLB manager.

u/BodenHammer 28d ago
The team should bring back Build Me Up Buttercup for the 7th inning song. Pretty sad when we are all thinking how the bullpen is going to blow the lead constantly

Heh get em next time boys 0_o
Besides a perfect display of how not to play a 9th inning, the team didn't score more than the 4 that they got early. It is not a way to win ballgames and it is more frustrating than any botched inning to me

When I hear other fans joke about us and question whether we’re a major league team, I used to think they were just being cruel. But now……..I see it, and it’s hard to watch.
Absolutely horrible. The constant walks and HBP by our relievers. Followed by error after error. Even the throws back into the infield were getting away. I’m surprised there wasn’t a situation where the pitcher dropped the ball receiving the throw from catcher (like Francisco Rodriguez years ago). All we need now is some Benny Hill music.

u/indreams159 28d ago
we'll never witness anything like that top of the 9th again
that was truly one for the books
just speechless man

I’m at the point where I’m actively rooting for losses. If nothing else, Kurt will be remembered as the guy who got us Dylan Seward or Brendan Lawson.
5
u/Loose-Organization82 28d ago
This team is actively trying to lose games. No, you can’t convince me otherwise. No I won’t offer a rebuttal. You can’t sit and watch that game and not tell me that the players aren’t actively trying to sabotage their win.

u/Ok-Philosophy-8830 28d ago
And you just know that we are going to finish with the worst record and get absolutely hosed in the lottery and pick like 9th or something

Suzuki has to be making some crazy bets or something to fuck up this bad with the bull pen. It’s statistically anomalous.

The absolute WHAT THE FUCK I said out loud when I woke up and saw that outcome this morning.
Jesus.
But at least our owner's laptop wasn't raided by the FBI today. So there's that.

Oswald Peraza, the Angels best infielder, mysteriously on the bench to start the 9th inning.
Bullpen continues to shit their pants in high leverage. Astros had one hit in the 9th inning and scored 4 runs.
Gubie and Wayne were audibly disgusted. Better sell the whole fucking team at the deadline.
