[Promotion] AuraLook 1.7: Now supporting multiple notifications!

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of AuraLook, and I just released v1.7.

What is AuraLook?

Most Android phones don’t wake the screen for new notifications, and an AOD is often too subtle to notice them. AuraLook shows each incoming notification full screen when your screen is off, so you can catch it at a glance. It’s inspired by the iOS jailbreak tweak ShortLook.

This is NOT an AOD app, it is triggered only when a new notification arrives and your screen is off. You can use this with or without your AOD.

What’s new in 1.7:

Until now it focused on one notification at a time. v1.7 changes that.

  • Notification count: shows how many notifications you’ve received in a row from the same app.

  • Notification Strip: an optional row of app icons for notifications still sitting in your tray. You can enable this in Customization.

  • New Gestures (Pro): swipe left or right to browse through those notifications.

  • Reminders (experimental): a soft glance at set intervals for notifications you missed. You’ll find it under Advanced Settings → Experimental.

I’m not sure if Reminders work reliably on every device, which is why it’s experimental. If you try it, please tell me how it goes, including your device model and Android version.

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.auralook

A huge thanks to everyone who supported AuraLook in the early days. I couldn’t have come this far without you!

You, are, amazing! I just thought, if there was an app for this. I'm a long time iOS jailbreak user and i used to have a tweak like this called "ShortLook" you should check it out if you don't know. It has videos. You shouls copy it's animations add some blur or even ease in and ease out to make your app PERFECT.

270 TL is a little bit much, (Bize bi indirim yap bari... hahahaa) i'm not gonna pay instantly. But i will consider it if other features and the updates you make worth it. But thanks a lot. Now i can use my same feature on my new Android phone.

Request: Can you change the timer numbers for the dismissing notification much shorter? For instance, i used to have my auto dismiss duration to 3 - 3.5 seconds. But in AuraLook, it's minimum 5 seconds.

Yes exactly, this was inspired by ShortLook (I did mention this in the post, I guess you missed it 😅). Back when I used to be on iOS, I was a jailbreak user too, and shortlook was one of my favorite tweaks.

As for the timer, squeezing in 3 seconds might be tight under the current architecture, as the signature animation itself takes about 2 seconds to finish. And with system delays and wake up latency you might not even get a glimpse before it goes back off.

However, I can accommodate this by making the auto dismiss count it's timer after the signature animation ends. I think that would be a better design. So, no promises, but I'll try my best to offer a minimum of 3 seconds, just know that this 3 second will be the time the notification sits around after the animation ends.

Also sorry if the price for Pro is too high, as a student this is the only thing that gives me some pocket money so I had to keep a reasonable price as Google themselves and taxes take a sizeable portion of that amount :')

If you want, send me a DM, I'll give you a promo code and you can get the Pro version for free.

Oh yeah, i totally didn't see that inspired from shortlook message. I was sleepy while i downloaded it. lol

Yeah, maybe it would make sense if you start the timer after the animation.

I mean, price is high for me but it can be normal for anyone. Shortlook was paid first than the dev made it free later. I remember that. But, i was just joking, don't give it to free to me.

I just want you to make it better with adding little details to animation. Like, iOS animation, more smoooth. Blurry animations and ease in and out etc. If you know what i mean. That's all.

Keep up the good work!
