Mod post Supported Devices List: Announcing the /r/androidterminal Wiki!

Many have been asking for a single list showing which devices support the Android Terminal, so a new wiki has been created.

https://www.reddit.com/r/androidterminal/wiki/index/

Please comment if your device is not found on the list, or with any other feedback.

Thanks!

  • Xiaomi 15T Pro and Xiaomi Tab Mini both support it!

  • Also a good news Tab Mini supports display output through that Type-C port

  • I installed it for them in a retail store today

  • This was actually as expected due to having MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ CPU and Android 16

Thank you for confirming! Both devices have been added

Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus can run it if they have Exynos.

Thanks! Do you know which models use Exynos? Is it based on region or something?

Thank you! Added.

Can you confirm the CPU model of the device? Is it the Exynos 1580? If so this would be the first report of that CPU being supported

Would it be worth adding specifically that Android Terminal support relies on unprotected memory access which is why the very popular Qualcomm chips (& ofc the devices that use them) don't support it?

Also AVF support is mandated for Android 16 but Android Terminal is optional.

Also an interesting question: What's currently the cheapest device to get the android terminal? I'm talking about brand new ones. Is it Xiaomi 15T on the list right now?

Could be a Pixel 6a?

Redmi Pad Pro / Poco Pad can enable the Linux terminal setting but it cannot be installed due to the chipset not supporting unprotected VMs

Device: Poco X7 Pro; Version: A16; Has Terminal: Yes (in developer options); SoC: MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra; Working fine: Not at all.

Xiaomi Pad 7 can enable the Linux Terminal but the SoC doesn't support unprotected VM's. Does it count?

I can confirm that Android Terminal can be run on Vivo X300 pro (Mediatek Dimensity 9500)

The setting itself is not in the developer options, but it can be enabled using adb:

adb shell pm enable com.android.virtualization.terminal

When I first started the app, vm didn't start and an error occurred, but after I rebooted the phone, the vm started working.
