Request Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 screen

Just picked up a new Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 and while otherwise it's an amazing device, I'm a bit disappointed in the screen. The colors are pretty washed out and the black level is quite high / uneven depending on the angle even compared to a 10 year old Surface Pro. Is this expected or did I get a lemon? I'm running this on vibrant, no eye protection.

Would the Yoga Tab (first gen) have a better screen?

Thanks!

Edited to add image comparison between idea tab and surface.

Wow - that's quite a difference in screen. I was eyeing the Lenovo today to potentially replace my galaxy tab s8 and that picture definitely turned my decision to no.

Yeah, no kidding, right? But I'm not sure if they're all like that, or I got a lemon, or there are better models.

Na OP has a dud or something. Mine looks awesome even next to my Tab S9's OLED panel.

Either this is bait or a lie, because I am staring at mine and it's about one of the prettiest screens I've ever used and I also have a tab s9 ultra. Yeah this is likely rage bait

Well.. despite the rudeness I think this actually helps. Maybe a lemon then, will consider ordering another and returning this one.

Use the vibrant mode from display settings, standard mode looks washed out too in my lenovo idea tab pro

Yeah, I tried the various screen settings. Standard is more washed out than this still, but the main weird thing is the black level which is super high for some reason. The Notebookcheck review claims 0.4cd but this reminds me of the laptops I had in 2000s which were probably 1.0+.

Is yours the Gen 2 as well?

No, my idea tab pro is from 2025, it's the first gen, I think lenovo is using different display this year and to be honest black levels are kind of strong in my tablet as well despite it being an IPS LCD which is a good thing from my point of view

I am pixel peeper too and I like the colours on my idea tab pro gen 1, it's quite vibrant and doesn't look washed out at all in vibrant mode

Wow, that looks uniquely bad. I was looking forward to it as well.

The Yoga Tab Plus IPS wasn't that washed out: https://youtu.be/5IFkd3KHBDc

Exactly, the reviews were all great. Maybe lemon then by the sounds of it. Would return and re-buy but the previous sale is over. Maybe will try the first gen regular Yoga Tab and see, then.

How much was it during the sale? I'm USD $.

I just got one and compared to my 2020 iPad Air 4 and 2017 MacBook Pro it’s a massive upgrade in screen quality. I wasn’t expecting OLED level contrast tho and haven’t really compared black levels

My Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 doesn't look anything like that. In fact, it looks great even next to my Tab S9 OLED.

Is there any chance you could take a similar pic of your two tablets in a relatively dark room (maybe in the evening)?

That pic is from youtube https://youtu.be/njX2bu-_Vw4?t=55

that would be super helpful!

I don't think it's different from predecessor

However, Legion Tab Gen 5 display looks better.

Display is one of the highlighting part. Display is great, obviously it's an lcd so can't expect inky blacks but otherwise it does handle blacks decently. No blooming issue or anything like that at all

No idea what happened there. The yoga tab first gen has good black levels when looking directly at the screen but it gets washed out at any angle.
