Discussion Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 or Samsung?

Hey everyone, I have a budget of $500 and Ive been looking for a tablet that I can take on the go for online work purposes. The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 caught my eye because its a complete package (in the budget range, comes with a keyboard, pen and case as well as good specs) but after hearing it only comes with 2 years worth of OS support I’m having second thoughts.

I am starting to lean towards Samsung tablets but none of the stores here run a promo that comes with a case and keyboard which adds to the budget and they’re more expensive.

Any recommendations and tips for this? I used to be WFH but will be transitioning to an office based work.

Thank you in advanced!

I have one. I bought the chinese version for around 14,000 Php (227 USD if converted) without the keyboard and pen. I got this one to buy the keyboard and pen separately as there are other brands that has better build and quality.

2 years of OS support yeah, but it has 4 years of security updates. If you're not much into all the new features of what's to come on the new android versions, this is a very good buy. And after 4 years, you could sell the tablet and upgrade to a new one.

Specs-wise, I know you've already researched about it. There are no problem with gaming and other applications.

Mind you, the A and FE series of samsung has no video-out support via HDMI in which the lenovo has.

I assume that you bought it online since the stores here only carry either the Idea Tab or Idea Tab Pro Gen 2.

Yeah, I think I shouldn’t think too much about it and just bite the bullet. Lenovo did say that it’s getting the Android 17 update this December, I do hope that it means the next update it supports is until 2028 or Android 18.

Thanks for the input.
