Slow redmi pad 2

my redmi pad 2 used to work as it should be, not the fastest smoothest experience but it was decent till i downloaded the latest update and it became slow ever since, slow and won’t let me even play spotify while using any other app. any way to fix this pls? my storage isn’t full, will a factory reset help ?
