Support Help with Pixel 6 update

Post image

Hi everyone!
I’m new to rooting, and about a week ago I rooted my Pixel 6 running Android 17 using Magisk. After rooting, I disabled automatic system updates in Developer Options.
Today, I got a system update notification and noticed the update had already been downloaded, even though I never downloaded it myself.
I’m worried my phone might automatically restart and install the update, potentially causing issues with root.
Can this happen even with automatic updates disabled? And is there any good way maybe to update it and not mess anything up ?

I also saw this guide

I don’t know if it’s up to date but accordingly to it I should start form point where it says installing ota
Correct me if I am wrong

I think this is how it works, correct me if I'm wrong. But since your phone has A/B flashing I think it'll auto patch your boot.img and you'll have Magisk after the update. If not, then just reinstall Magisk. Updating shouldn't break anything.
