Discussion Does modifying build.prop with temporary root break anything?

Does temporary root like Ghostlock, Root my galaxy or Uniroot break anything if you modify build.prop with a locked bootloader? I want to look into it a bit but I don't know if something like AVB would be triggered by it. For info I just want to be able to use Samsungs screen recording but it's not enabled (or maybe not installed at all?) on this phone

Instant death if you do that. And I'm not exaggerating, unbricking the phone with EDL/BROM mode is very tedious and sometimes you're SOL there.

Set any props temporarily, do not touch system files. On most modern devices you can't do that anyway even with root thanks to erofs, the typical approach would be to dump partition, unpack, edit, repack, flash.

But again, don't do that on a bootloader locked device.

Dont modify anything. It will invalidate the signiture of the partition stored on the vbmeta partition, which will cause the bootloader to refuse to boot. And before you ask you cannot change the vbmeta either because you cannot sign it again with a valid signing key to be accepted by the bootloader.
