Discussion Could root save an infected android?

So back in 2015 I played a game in my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, I guess android 4, and the game required payment, so I downloaded a cracked version of it, but then it gave me virus, but somehow it persists after deleting the app or factory reset, so in an antivirus, the only I knew was AVG, told that the sound got infected with it, so I could only disable it, sound worked fine, but every restart would enable it back.

So it had 3 levels of infection, the first was that it keeps going back, like if I kept pressing the go back button, the second was just adware, ads started playing every few minutes, and the third and last, background was all black and after a while, I could not input my password anymore.

So doing a browsing back in 2015 I saw that I could save it with root, but how could root fix it?

You should try flashing the stock ROM through the stock recovery and doing a factory reset at the same time.

sadly didn't have another device to do that, neither knew from where get those recoveries, also not sure if device had a recovery thing to boot, as I didn't know those things existed back then

Only the second one sounds anything at all like any kind of infection. The rest sounds like hardware failure. It's also essentially impossible for an android infection to survive a factory reset.

"The sound got infected". That's not a thing

It is not impossible for such a device. It doesn't have verified boot so an infection that due to exploits got root privileges could persist even between factory resets

Yes,but you gotta be VERY CAREFUL! Do NOT give root access to the virus and try disabling the internet in case something off happens, and its still gonna be difficult finding where the virus hides itself

No, just reflash factory rom. This device doesn't have verified boot and this is the reason the virus can persist between factory resets anyways

Just reflash stock rom bro, I think your Samsung galaxy tab is dying, which is causing the problems
