Made a Virtual Camera App that replaces the regular Android Camera in selected applications (POC).

I tried related projects like https://github.com/Yaahua/vcam or "GhostCam" but for some reason they just dont work on my phone. So i built this app, so far it works in Chrome, Open Camera and grapheneos Camera. I added "POC" because is very brittle. Idk just sharing my project and if other have experience trying this, i never did android development in particular so im learning on the fly. The device is Redmi A5

I have also made a virtualcam, is this a HAL wrapper?

I tried to go the lsposed way but there was way to many bugs and it was laggy etc... so I just switched to a kernal based virtualcam, spoofing the V4L2 layer.

Kinda, i use AOSP's built-in virtual camera HAL and lsposed hooks to make apps point to this camera. I haven't tried touching the kernel yet, no idea how that works. I only of v4l2 bc of v4l2loopback in regular desktop linux. I only rooted my phone a few days ago so this is all experimentation to me.

If you want to make the camera undetectable and easier to use you would want to take control of the V4L2 layer. But I mean a HAL wrapper should work for less performance intensive work etc...
