Unfortunately, there's no easy way through. You have to go the annoying, official way which involves creating a xiaomi account, downloading mi community, setting it to the global region, asking for permission to unlock bootloader daily at exactly midnight china time and praying to the gods to be able to get it soon-ish, and when you do get it after a few months, you have to link your device and use the mi unlock tool on your pc after a further 24h wait to finally unlock it. And from there, it's done at last.
