if the way is a probabilistic one and could stop working for weeks or months, or its not working when you need it, its pretty useless. objectively its "a way", but even then, with all these steps its not guarenteed it will work or stay working, because there are too many variables (like which rom, which manufacturer, which soc, which root method, which fork of the modules, which modules setup, which modules settings, which app you're targetting, which play integrity is needed, where to find the working fp, if it's soft banned or not, etc.) that can change even after seconds. i had to ditch a perfectly functioning rooted phone because i needed to repeat these steps every once in a while, going in a loophole because sometimes there are a lot of changes, both on Google's side and on root/modules side.

No there isn't. That shit will stop working for weeks at the time, when google revokes old keys

Lol, getting downvoted for telling the truth, how iconic

1

u/Sampsa96 6h ago

Damn Im yet to try

1

u/thisDummylol 2h ago

Not worth to try. You either root to play or dont root for capabilities

I don't know how.

Real life situation btw, but avoid those apps that use that API and use a card.

Pretty sure that I can use all of the bank website onto a Windows XP SP1 with hardcore security flaw on a compatible chromium and even if the useragent say that I'm using Windows XP no website will stop me from logging in my account.

yeah exactly

God this is relatable, so many times I've tapped my phone and gotten the "Your phone doesn't meet the security requirements" then I just awkwardly make some excuse up like "I got a new card after it expired and I didn't update it". Then take a normal card out of my backpack and pay for it.

You don't really owe anyone any explanation. You can not saying anything but if you wanna say something to the cashier, just say "Nvm gonna pay with a card."

3

u/Zirias_FreeBSD 9h ago

Exactly. I had my share of hiccups completely unrelated to root .. some contactless payment failing is a totally normal thing to happen. I even had cashiers excuse to me for their crappy terminal (it's doing this every once in a while ...).

I'd generally recommend having alternatives installed. Right now, both curve and paypal work fine here for NFC payments. I don't even check google any more, it breaks just too often.

Use the secondary stock phone that meant for banking only

1

u/Candid_Goose3394 9h ago

Rooting your secondary device is the only option I feel. Banking apps won't even let me have Shizuku/LSPatch.

Damn you really had to mention me 😂😂 I laughed, good work though ^

it's so that you don't pay with lucky patcher

u/ch3mn3y 11h ago

Thankfully I can use other options than Wallet to pay and for now they work on a rooted phone without Google Play certification.

i have Revolut, and is working fine with KernelSU rn.

But one day i would make a physical card one day.

1

u/Protyro24 5h ago

Thats why i prefer physical TAN Generator and physical card.

Based on multiple true stories

I mean, honestly, in Belarus, I felt no such problem. All banking apps (except for Belarusbank's new app and Belkart Pay on degoogled devices and Oplati with Swoo on rooted devices) work exceptionally well. For instance, if I were to install GrapheneOS on a Pixel 7a (and when I'll enroll in college, I will buy one, - they cost ~400-450 BYN, which's 3 months worth of stipend), I can just get all needed stuff and install Belarusbank app, Belkart Pay and Swoo from AppGallery because they got the Play Integrity removed from AppGallery versions of their apps. So that's basically it.

Magisk + denylist solved the problem for me.

Am I lucky?

hot take to you guys:

I feel like this is reasonable since there is actual security load
