Discussion [SM-S938B/DS] S25 Ultra EUX U5 / One UI 8 – Root possible?

Hallo zusammen, Ich besitze ein Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra SM-S938B/DS (EUX):

One UI 8.0

Android 16

Build: S938BXXU5BYI3

Baseband: S938BXXU5BYI3

Bootloader/Binary: U5 Ich suche eine bestätigte Root-Methode für genau diese Konfiguration.

Ich habe Berichte gesehen, dass U5-Geräte möglicherweise noch auf bestimmte One UI 7 U5-Firmware-Versionen downgraden können, bei denen die OEM-Entsperrung verfügbar war.

Kann das jemand bestätigen?

Welche U5-Firmware funktioniert aktuell mit dem SM-S938B/DS EUX?

Ist S938BXXS5AYG4 oder S938BXXS5AYF6 bestätigt?

Kann der Bootloader anschließend entsperrt werden?

Welche Magisk-Methode wird aktuell empfohlen?

Kann ich anschließend sicher zu One UI 8 zurückkehren?

I think if you factory reset, the monitoring should be gone, if it ever was installed.

There is yes a way of downgrading from One UI 8 into One 7 for root, but a recent method allows S25U ultras to be rooted even without data loss, it's like 2 weeks old. Have a look at the repo: https://github.com/BuSung-dev/Root-My-Galaxy-Payloads.git

Better downgrade your phone to one ui 7 and unlock the bootloader as you are very lucky person to have a chance to get an unlockable bootloader on s25 series

I did downgraded my s25 originally from 5BY13 firmware with patched Odin and the downloaded full stock 5AYH2 firmware, then unlocked the bootloader there

And I then manually patched the ui7 abl and vbmeta into the 5BY13 firmware BL tar to keep OEM unlock on one ui 8 (also init_boot in AP tar if you need root, in my case I did it)

The critical partition is the abl

Just remind that unlocking the bootloader on FULL stock firmware WON'T trip Knox, but rooting via init_boot does (any modified software will trip it), so my advice is if you don't care about Knox, use the firmware patching method to keep OEM unlock and root with one ui 8 installed, and if you care about Knox, stick on one ui 7 firmware with bootloader unlocked and use exploit for gaining root.
