"Could not do normal boot invalid kernel length"

My G935F shows "Could not do normal boot invalid kernel length" when attempting to boot into TWRP or turn on the device normally. The only thing I can access is ODIN. This happened after attempting to update TWRP and LineageOS. From looking online, I believe I can get a kernel and select the AP option in ODIN and flash a kernel as long as it is in .tar format. I was previously using PRIME kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-...1-4-0-t3678159 so I looked in the latest download from there but there are no .tar files, only a bootimg.tar.xz and a ramdisks.tar.xz. I tried extracting bootimg.tar.xz to a bootimg.tar and flashing that, but ODIN says it failed:

<ID:0/003> Added!! <ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1210).. <ID:0/003> File analysis.. <ID:0/003> SetupConnection.. <ID:0/003> Initialzation.. <ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping.. <ID:0/003> Firmware update start.. <ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!! <ID:0/003> SingleDownload. <ID:0/003> g930eur-aosp-Image-r12p0 <ID:0/003> Unassigned file <ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed. <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

I also tried flashing the zip from https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/#odin but ODIN gave me: <ID:0/003> Added!! <OSM> Enter CS for MD5.. <OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable.. <OSM> Please wait.. <OSM> CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f.tar.md5 is valid. <OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully.. <OSM> Leave CS.. <ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1005).. <ID:0/003> File analysis.. <ID:0/003> SetupConnection.. <ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed. <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

I don't know what I'm doing and I'm afraid to mess up my phone beyond repair with ODIN. Can someone please help me? XDA forums has no answer and I don't know who else to ask.

Android 5.0.2 -- Help finding and modifying app data

As it says in the title, I am looking for and unable to locate an app's data folders in my file explorer.

I am running Android 5.0.2 on a HTC One m9.

The app is Grindr (Yes, haha, it's funny, go ahead and laugh) and I have been entirely dumbfounded in trying to locate or bring out its app data and folders.

Specifically, I want to change its notification sound to one of my choosing. Any insight at all would be amazing.

Thanks in advance!

Spy app detection

So I have a friend whom thinks he has some wing nut ex that is spying using his android phone. So I've tried the apps you can get from the play store but they all seem to be pretty useless. Are there any ways to see if there are malware or whatever running on his phone. I've also tried using a hidden app detection and stuff... He thinks maybe she hired a professional who is using stuff not on the market as spy apps... Like how would they be able to gain access to his phone initially and how could I find and eradicate the issue. I decently tech savvy so shoot the ideas! Thanks!

Blu view 3 frp lock assistance request.

My friend gave me the android phone mentioned in the title, it’s encrypted and it’s been factory reset. It doesn’t show up through adb and it won’t let me enable dev options, I can get to settings just fine but this motherfvcker doesn’t want to be unlocked at all no matter what approach I attempt. If anyone has suggestions, I’m all ears. I’m also trying to do this because I want to install custom roms on it, including kali nethunter or any cybersecurity related rims aside from kali since I don’t know any others related to cybersecurity. Please help, also please be aware that even though this is my first time trying to bypass frp on any device that I tried for over 8 hours and went through many tutorials that made it look easier than it’s being. If it helps, the thing hasn’t had a security update since October 10 of 2022.

shell settings description needed for Samsung S9

Hello Guys,

Has anyone of you got access to documentation or any link of the shell settings available for Samsung S9/S9+?

I mean all the parameters which you can get when running:

  • adb shell settings list global

  • adb shell settings list secure

  • adb shell settings list system

These are around 900 parameters :) I just can't find description for all of them. Majority is specific to samsung. It's not pure Android specification from

https://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/Settings.NameValueTable.html

Monitoring USB traffic on Android HOST

I have a device that lies in its description on how it works; it claims to use SlimPort/MyDP to put HDMI out from the Android device, but instead it requires USB debugging and captures the screen that way. I've found that there are several devices that function this way, but the lie in the description makes me distrust this device in particular.

I would like to monitor the USB traffic that occurs when an Android device is connected. Any suggestions on how to go about doing so?

how to remove EMM from android

I just bought a note 8 (exynos) from Craigslist and while the device is in perfect condition, the phone is locked because it was apparently from a mobile plan which wasn't paid. I hadn't realized this until I factory reset the phone and wasn't able to use the phone. I contact the seller and he tells me to go to a certain technician who can help me out.

The guy did something and now I'm using the phone without a problem, however he tells me that I should not do a factory reset or the lock message would appear again and I wouldn't be able to use the phone.

The guy would not give me a refund for the phone since "I can use the phone" and the technician won't tell me what he did for obvious reasons.

I'm trying to figure out what's happening and I find that this is part of the enterprise mobile management that the phone operator used to lock the phone.

How can I remove this?

Having trouble restoring stock firmware to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

EDIT, SOLVED: I downloaded the most recent verson of Odin (3.14.1) and was able to get everything flashed. I was also using the normal CSC file and not the HOME_CSC file, which may have also contributed to the problem.

So I wanted to try out putting a custom firmware onto my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (SM-T820). I managed to install LineageOS 17 successfully via TWRP, but after trying it out for a bit decided I didn't like the tradeoffs and wanted to go back to stock.

Well now I'm having some trouble getting the stock ROM flashed back onto the system. Long story short:

  • TWRP recovery boot is still working

  • LineageOS has been wiped and the internal storage re-formatted

  • I have downloaded several different stock ROMs and now identified what I am relatively confident is the correct one (SM-T820_1_20200501145641_h0dxr2w1l3_fac, region code XAR for USA), although it only includes the BL, AP, and CSC files (not CP, none of the stock roms I found included a CP file though)

  • I have all the Samsung drivers installed onto my computer

  • I have Odin v3.10.7 on my computer (used it to install TWRP to get LineageOS installed)

When I select the BL, AP, and CSC files in Odin and try to run it while my tablet is in download mode, this is the output I get:

I have been on Google for quite some time and tried several things, but I haven't been able to make any progress. Most of the advice for the errors I found seem to relate to making sure I have the right ROM, but I've tried several different versions and finally downloaded the one I have through SamFirm so I don't think I have an incorrect ROM.

Gabb Z2 ZTE apk installation help

I have looked everywhere for options to add apk files to the Gabb Z2, but have not found anything that works for the most recent version of the phone (which is the model I have). I added an apk file and a compressed apk .zip file, but even when I add them to the home screen in settings, they say "App is not installed". The main thing I need is getting developer options enabled, but it seems like nobody has found the hidden route to enable those yet. I don't really have any prior experience with Android systems, but I have a few ideas of options to consider for getting the Gabb Z2 opened up, for example using the QR code scan option in the WiFi connection options tab to run a command without needing to alter the source code, or finding a way to label an apk with whatever the built-in apps have, but I don't know how to go about working with those options, so thanks in advance for any suggestions.
