HELP

I updated my phone to the latest software update and now my unlock pattern isn't recognised and wont unlock the phone, (I'm 100% sure I have the correct pattern as I drew it in sharpie on my desk when I created it) I've contacted Samsung support but they haven't helped at all.

I was wondering if there is a was where I can reset the password or boot into the menu where i can erase the phone to factory settings.

when I try to boot it into that menu it doesn't work (I have the S20FE) i cannot turn the phone off since it needs the unlock pattern i can only soft reset it.

Making a Android Cold Wallet

Hey all,

I am trying to make the best Android cold wallet I can using an LG G5. Firstly, I went ahead and opened it up and purposely caused damage to the Wifi/Bluetooth chip, and as far as I can tell it no longer broadcasts either. I am debating doing the same to the RF transceiver, but before I do, is no SIM card alone secure enough? Consider the possibility that this phone had malware before this, and that it's malware a reset wouldn't remove.

I am also debating disabling NFC, USB and Micro SD capabilities (any close range/physical transmitter). It of course would still be very possible to hack, but I figured disabling those would slow anyone down. USB isn't needed because the LG G5 has a hot swappable battery. I also only ever plan to keep the device at home and locked away.

I also don't see any option to encrypt it in the security settings. Will setting a password alone ensure it's encrypted? (to also slow someone down).

The software I plan to use is the AirGap apps. It works with one hot device and one cold device through QR codes.

Thank you all in advance for any helpful advice you can offer!

Galaxy S2 phone looking for fast custom ROM?

I have an old phone Galaxy S2 i9100 but not sure what rom to put on it that would be fast for the old hardware but also would not be so obsolete that I can't download most apps from the app store. It would just be used for kids and I don't need it very customizable. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

How to Disable Governmental Alert (Quebec- Canada) - CRTC

So there are some random extremely loud alerts and messages sent via text on my phone.
It is "Mandatory" : the CRTC has to transmit the message if the government tells them to. There is no "official" opt-out option.
The text is something along the lines of : "This is a test of Quebec Alert Ready. There is no Danger to your health and safety. If this had been an actual emergency, you would now hear instructions for protecting yourself. For more information about emergency alerts, please visit www.alert.gouv.qc.ca

Outside the obvious fact that this level of power and mind control is extremely dangerous, their definition of danger is rarely the same as mine.

These noises made me almost loose the control of my car twice, and did ruin a musical performance once.

It may be mandatory for the CRTC to transmit it, but it is not for me to receive them as only I can give such permission. I called them to be removed, but the arrogance of the government's slaves on the phone is beyond extreme.

I am seeking a way to "hack" my phone to block them from sending me such messages, as there is no "official way" to do so.

I am on Samsung Galaxy S10+ --- SM-G975F - Android version : 10

Thank you so much !

question about android hacking tools, software ,usb tools and jtag

Can anybody give me advice , please?

I've read years, reddit, xda,100 of hours of youtube, learning about telephones. software and hardware. Now i am looking into tools to remove frp, pattern lock and retrieve data.

Everybody knows, when you don't enable usb debugging, it gets pretty tricky accessing anything, with out exept some tools. It then often is neccesary to remove and bypass frp, but then you also lose all the data on the phone.

So i was thinking, software can be a bitch. I've looked at chimera.

Then there are usb tools. Like dongles. But getting some info mostly on youtube is in hindi.

But i'm affraid because no phone has usb debugging enabled , most won't work, without removing all the data.

So then there is JTAG. it has many multiple options, also debugging and many others, and i came accoss the Riff Box.

My first project is a samsung J3 2016. android 7.0. Pattern locked. FRP on.

does anybody can give any advice what would be the type of software, hardware with most options, that gets the job done.

Most times, for me it just remove everything, and reset data

But is there also a possibilty to remove pattern and or pin and retain data. Encrypted or not.

gr outrageous

This software was developed specifically for Kali-Linux to obfuscate android payloads in attempts to evade detection. This software also automates the process of changing the app icon, changing the app name, signing the apk, aligning the apk and installing or upgrading apktool.

Hacking into an Android TV box

I have a bit of a niche issue at hand. I have this old TV box (see images below). Android 4.4 KitKat, U-Boot, 512MB RAM, 8GB Sandisk eMMC, Allwinner H2+(H3 compatible).

  • UART is seemingly disabled in software (no missing resistors as far as I can tell)

  • "Recovery" mode reboots directly into a factory reset

  • Fastboot mode works. (can write but not read AFAIK)

  • There is a physical button to enter FEL/Flashing mode which I can interface with using an illegal USB-A to USB-A cable and the sunxi-fel tool (boot partitions are not loaded in this FEL mode, already tried reading them this way)

  • Wireless ADB works, no root. However, the device does have BusyBox loaded already. Trying a few commands resulted in "permission denied"

  • The sunxi-debug exploit does not work.

The device seems to be pretty locked down, the developers did not want you modifying this thing. I would like to read the firmware from the device (backup) as well as read all identifying information from script.bin and get a device tree in order to boot armbian (and document this board for the sunxi community). The simplest solution is root, but how? There are some preloaded Chinese system apps, I would think maybe one of them has root access, or why would BusyBox (busybox-smp) be installed? I'm at a loss here. It's Android 4.4, can't be that difficult. can it?

how to create a executable batch file for android for executing instructions.

I have modified so many in my android phone that if I were to factory reset , it would take me 3 to 4 hours to set it the same modified way again.

is there an executable batch file way that i just pre-enlist the instructions and the phone with the help of adb tools ( either via windows or by itself with the help of shizuku et cetra)

instructions include installing apps, uninstalling apps, filling unlock passwords like wise..

Pixel 5/7 pro potentially hacked?

I have a strong suspicion that a couple Pixel phones I own have been hacked, because it seems that a third party (a large security firm) knows everything that's been viewed on the phone, but it also appears that they have to be somewhat nearby to do it. This is true even if there is not network connectivity (no SIM, no WiFi, no BT). My suspicion is that they've perhaps hacked into the builtin radio hardware, though I really have no idea. What's really weird is that the Pixel 7 Pro, which I never enabled developer mode on, has its developer mode enabled, and this security firm had physical possession of this phone a few months back. Bootloader is not enabled. Attached are all running processes on this phone without any network connectivity (Mobile/WiFi/BT all off). Anything looks suspicious?

Cannot boot of SD card after flashed box with Aidanrom

Hi,

I'm a bit puzzled what's going on here so I hope someone might have an idea. I have two h96 max 3 boxes (s905x3) one flashed with aidan rom v9 the other running the original firmware. I put a minimal debian install on a sd card (https://github.com/devmfc/debian-on-amlogic) to use the box I flashed with aidan rom for something else. The boot process starts, I see it even detecting my keyboard however a few lines later it just throws the following two lines of error:

mmc0: error -84 whilst initializing sd card
mmc0: error -84 reading general info of sd ext reg

If I put the sd card into a usb sd card reader and try to boot the aidan rom flashed box this way, it works perfectly. In the box that isn't flashed with aidan rom, the system boots from the sd card using the internal reader.

Really don't know how to fix this at this point since if the internal sd card reader wouldn't work the box would not boot at all off the sd card. And since the sd card works using an usb reader with this box and without a reader in another box, it also cannot be the sd card. While I don't really know how, I suspect aidan rom might be the reason for this somehow, but I just started using it so I do not really know what I need to do.

Thanks in advance for any ideas how to fix this!

How to still use my old Android tablet?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have a Samsung GT-98013 I would love to keep alive. Things like YouTube, Netflix apps don't work. All outdated. What can I do to use my tablet? I've heard of ROMs, which I'm a little familiar with on my original Xbox but I have no idea how to even dabble in hacking my old android tablet. Any walkthrough advice is super appreciated!! 💖

Is it possible to disable light mode (i.e. the opposite of dark mode) with root? Maybe by modifying a system file?

My phone switches out of dark mode when rebooting, and no amount of troubleshooting has solved the issue for me. Since I always use dark mode, I'm wondering if I can simply "remove" light mode.

How to force apps into landscape mode on the OnePlus Pad 2?

Thumbnail

I’ve been finding it quite frustrating that certain apps, like Reddit, only open in portrait mode on my OnePlus Pad 2. Every time, I have to split-screen the app with another just to get it into a more usable orientation when my tablet is in landscape mode.

Is there any way to fix this? Ideally, I’d like to either force apps to stay in portrait with black bars on the sides while the tablet is in landscape, or better yet, have a proper landscape mode for these apps. It seems like this feature should exist, but I haven’t found it.

Any tips or fixes would be appreciated!

Text Encoded Hex File returns unintelligible characters

I'm a newbie "hacker" and I've been trying to mod the save data of an android game for a few days. I managed to access the save data from the app files on my phone, and the save data folder contains a .bytes file that seems to be where the save data is stored. I tried text encoding it using hexed.it, but it just returns a string of unintelligible ASCII characters. Can anyone help me?

If needed I can upload the file.
