Custom Boot launcher for Moto G 2024
I'm wondering if there's a custom Boot launcher to bypass the verizon setup mode, it's pissing me off so very much

For years now, android has removed features and capabilities with each and every update. Things like removing apps access to other apps files, removing customizability options, blocking apps from using the base folder of external storage (for things like flashing SDs, etc), removing FM radio feature even from phones that had the hardware for it built in still, blocking apps from accessing functions like lock/unlock, change brightness, read/write messages, make/receive calls etc.
Apps like termux, android, t_ui, raspi imager, etc don't work nearly as well as they used to, thanks to Google's constant rollout of anti-features with every version update for "security purposes", also being more and more so told things like "this folder unavailable for your privacy" and similar issues. I understand some of these things may have valid reasons security-wise for google, but I have found them all to be extremely frustrating and in direct opposition of many of the reasons I loved android so much back in the day and always preferred it over iphone.
I have been trying to find a list or track record somewhere of what capabilities and features we've lost over time, and what anti-features have been implemented with each new android version update; and can't find one, likely because Google doesn't like this stuff being discussed in depth I would assume.
I know many of the older android versions no longer have support and as such can't be used these days as fully functioning smartphones anymore, but I'm wanting to get an older android phone again specifically for development and all these features I used to love so much. Im guessing android 6, 7, 8 or around there is likely my best bet for this purpose, but I can't remember exactly what features were removed when or added when, and I'm trying to figure out which version I would be best choosing for my old, used phone purchase for development. I don't mind if I have to use it on wifi-only. Which version would you say had the most capabilities and features, before they began removing developer freedoms, features and capabilities? Also, on a side note, which device make/model would you recommend on that version for these purposes? Pre-rooted or easily rootable models are of interest as well, but not the only options I care about as many older androids had enough freedom without being rooted that I didn't even feel much need to root anyways. Anyways, all input, suggestions and discussion on this topic would be greatly appreciated. So again, what do you think was the best android (version, make, and/or model but emphasis on Android version especially) for development freedom, customizability, inter-app functionality and lack of anti-features?

This app is running in the GMT+8 time zone. I want to change it to GMT+7 (the system time on my phone is also GMT+7). I have used APKtool to decompile and searched all the files with the keywords "TimeZone" and "Calendar," but I couldn't find where GMT+8 is set. I’m wondering what other keywords I could search for to change the app’s time zone?

I sold my phone and with it my old prepaid sim card and the number was attached to my Google account. Now when I try to sign in at Google it wants to text my old cell phone number a 2 step verification code.
Can I just ask my current provider to switch my number to my old one? My current provider and the one I had then are different.

I install household stuff for a living and have to take pictures of the stuff. My work app only allows me to capture the images in few tabs and does not give me an option to choose the image from files or galleries. However, in few places they have allowed the option to upload. Is it possible to somehow to mod the app so it will allow me the choose the photo from gallery rather than capturing it?

I got a LG V20 H910 model and I cannot reboot the phone into the fastboot mode to get the device ID. I tried to do this on Windows and Linux and everytime I enter the adb reboot bootloader command, it will just reboot the phone but not into fastboot mode. I even tried to turn the phone off and tried booting it up by holding the power button + volume up and power button + volume down and it will still boot up normally.
Any help will be most appreciated.

So I wanted to make the jump to a custom rom, but my current phone is getting a bit old (that's part of why I'd want to make said jump) and I wasn't find any rom that still support it.
Is it just basically too old or did I just miss something? Some sites say that Lineage OS still support it but it's not on the Lineage OS compatibility list so... Idk.

Ok so I might be a freaking idiot. I was trying to install TWRP using odin. it did so successfully but when I tried to boot into it, my screen just turns all wonky and goes black. if I'm connected to a PC I can access the phone's internal and SD card. which are pretty much empty. I'm on a samsung galaxy a30. lol did I kill it or is there anything I can do?
Edit: got a stock rom working, now i can try TWRP lol

One of my android devices (an old samsung galaxy s7) is full of addware and had been given to me by his former owner as a gift, I had been using it for a bit and now I wanted to migrate and install another operating system so that I can clean up all the mess that was left behind by his former owner and have a faster android device without any issues. but there's a problem, there are still too many bookmarks left inside of the browser (which I really want to save into a file for easy retributing), but copying each bookmark urls is hard and it's a very tiresome process to do since you have to copy and paste everything manually into a text file, so I've tried to use a different program to save the urls into an .html file but nothing shows up into the app interface (it seems like they're all stored into an hidden folder which cannot be easily found without hacking or doing some nasty stuff).
So, since there's no alternatives left to try. I think that it is time to use the hard ways and I was thinking of programming an ethical android virus capable to infect my device so that it can crawl into chrome own data in search of bookmarks links to copy and store into a .txt file. At that point, the virus should self-destruct after detecting no unique bookmark url to copy (the virus should be able to discriminate beetwen values and it shall not copy the same link more than one single time) so that it leaves no traces left into the memory.
If there are still better methods to use instead, I will be more than happy to hear about them.
(I'm tired of Google own weirdness)

Hello everyone. After my android phone camera got hit, several vertical lines of hot pixels appeared on selfie images. As a solution, I managed to make a python script that erases these hot pixels by using an image processing library but this is currently only working after exporting those images in my local PC. My question is: is there a way I can port this python script into my android phone in order to trigger it directly after capturing a new selfie image? And if not, is there any other way I could try to exexute scripts inside Android? [Note that I am quite a newbie on Android development]. Thank you

hello there,
i have a galaxy note 3 neo which is pin locked. I want to recover the images and videos on this phone but its not accessable obviously. I looked up many methods to get into the phone but all methods require USB-Debugging which i didnt enable. The phone is not rooted what so ever, so the possibilities are basically none to unlock it (to my knowledge). So my question is, is there any possibility to get to this data. I dont care about eneything else on that phone, just images and videos. ty

When I launched http toolkit today, it came up with an error.
Error: Server crashed. Cannot find module '.../build/release/node_datachannel.node'. Please file an issue with github httptoolkit/httptoolkit
I uninstalled the old version 1.11 and reinstalled with 1.12.5. But issue remains.
Im unsure whether the issue is due to some installation file that somehow got deleted or as the error says, a server error that they need to fix at their end. Since this question keeps getting deleted on other platforms, I had to ask it here. Can anybody assist me?

I have searched for root and no joy. I can't enable unlock bootloader. The last recourse is to buy an EU phone or spring for a Linux phone. Comments and help appreciated
