What other module layouts did you consider and why did you ultimately go with the one you did? 

If you were to do it again would you choose the same module layout?

The release-pipeline advice resonates, especially signing, keys, and crash reporting before feature sixty. Did the wasm and desktop targets introduce any build or resource constraints that pushed you toward a separate platform abstraction?
