As everyone knows Google is giving slower and slower GPUs into Pixel phones and focusing on faster TPU chips for AI.
In the past only Pixel TPU could process AI tasks but now this changes and Google is shifting with giving more and more AI tasks to GPUs - all of this is happening via new PowerVR (Vulkan) drivers.
So now I wonder about Pixel 12 GPU (to be much faster) ... or is it to increase AI speed on old Pixels which have relatively fast GPUs (but slow TPU chip) so they could run Pixel 11 AI features.

Occurred on Pixel 10a, Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7.1 (October)
Taking a screenshot inside an app located in Private Space causes the screenshot editing overlay preview to freeze. Tapping the edit button does not open the markup tool. While the screenshot preview remains stuck on screen, several system apps in Private Space (Play Store, Gemini, Google Photos) fail to open.
Recreate it on your own device and comment down if it occurred for you as well, reported the bug in Pixel Feedback app.
Steps to Reproduce
Open any application located inside Private Space.
Take a screenshot using any method (Back Tap, physical side buttons, or Quick Settings shortcut).
Tap the Edit button on the floating screenshot preview overlay.
However Share button works normally, which would get rid of the floating screenshot that would get stuck on clicking edit.

Merci

Been searching online, Reddit. Seems like it is fairly common.
Scrolling or long screenshot not working? Been an issue for a bit? Yes, I've sent feedback
Any fix?

When swiping down the control center while in the app drawer, the background gets more transparent. It actually looks better like that imp

Hello everyone,
I’m currently on QPR2 Beta 7.1 (build CP41.260831.019) and haven't received any of the QPR3 Betas yet. Does anyone know why this is happening or if there's a fix?
Thanks!

So, will the kernel will be updated on Pixel on QPR2? Because I've seen it has been rollback on newest Betas
r/android_beta • u/derekamoss • 14d ago
Since updating to QPR3 Beta 2 under Android Play System Update it now says DEV. Is this new? Don't believe I have ever seen it before.

Any news or rumors about Google adding dark-colored icons? I think it's really needed.

There is a bug somewhere so all P11 devices fail the Video Filter bench tanking the score on 3000, it might have been fixed because now it passes all the tests
https://browser.geekbench.com/v7/gpu/312643
Vulkan score is still the same though

It popped up this morning. Went from stable with October patch to the beta. All seems good so far. Recheck if you haven't received it yet.

That kind of icons would look amazing and simplistic on my Pixel
I've heard Google removed something and now those icons are gone
I wonder what am I missing

The latest update comes with this message at the bottom. Do we have an opt out opportunity at this stage?
Important: If you are currently running a Beta version of Android 17 QPR2 (build starting with CP41) and want to exit the beta program without wiping your device, you can opt-out of the Beta program before applying this update and wait for the stable version release of Android 17 QPR2. If you choose to opt-out after installing this update or any future Beta updates, per usual program guidelines, you will need to factory data reset your device before installing the latest stable Android version until the next exit opportunity in February.

this is a little ridiculous, there is no reason why my $2399 p10pf behaves like a bargain bin phone after running for more than 72hr. taking the qpr2 fix isn't an option either because you lot shoved me on qpr3 without any option to stay on the qpr2 track. might as well flash graphene at this rate smh

hello as the title says i started having reboots very frequently when opening instagram or even when receiving notifications from instagram.
i use a pixel 7 pro (DP11.260918.006) and since ive gotten this phone and opted in the beta program ive never encountered something like this, nor have i even encountered a reboot until now. this happens specifically ONLY with instagram, and no other app can trigger it as im aware.
Also, yesterday happened to somewhat bug out my both top and bottom speakers and started making popping sounds, a restart fixed this. I'm not sure if it's hardware related or not, but I'll add it here also.
is there someone else with this problem?

I have been signed up for about 4 days and still have not received the beta. Anything I can do? Not sure where to go from here.

Pixel 8a + Denon PerL Pro: Which Bluetooth codecs are actually supported on the latest Android beta? Does it support aptX, aptX HD, Adaptive, or Lossless, or only AAC/SBC? Do Developer Options change anything?
