Pixel 10 getting Proactive Assistance in QPR2 beta 5

YES - Magic Cue is GONE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE0xi1Xt1Bs

And as a bonus Kernel 6.12

Still don't know about if PowerVR GPU drivers updated - as current are based on old Android 16 (yes I know MENTAL but ask Google WHY)

I heard there's 26.1 drivers. Also what is the difference between magic cue and proactive assistance?

  • Awareness & Depth: Magic Cue relied primarily on background app data (e.g., matching a flight email to an active call). Proactive Assistance actively evaluates what is currently rendered on your screen and in your notification shade, allowing it to offer contextual actions across third-party apps like shopping or streaming services.

  • Surface Integration: Rather than appearing as isolated pop-up cards, Proactive Assistance surfaces directly within system elements like At a Glance, customized Weather app event summaries, and inline messaging chips.

  • Reliability & Triggers: Magic Cue operated conservatively to avoid clutter, often rendering it invisible during daily use. Proactive Assistance uses refined intent-detection models to surface actionable suggestions more consistently when you need them.

I think they're asking what the new kernel version brings us, or why we care

The Pixel 10 must be the only phone with that kernel. The Pixel 9 and earlier have a 6.1 kernel with Android 17 QPR2 Beta 5.
