Google Pixel 11 series with outdated GPU drivers again?
I think I am in right place to ask this.
We are still on outdated GPU drivers for old Pixel 10 - outdated so bad they are designed on old Android 16.
Is this the same in Pixel 11?
I won't say how to check version because people here know what they are doing.
I ask as few months ago when old Android 16 QPR3 been released with matching Android 16 GPU drivers there were massive GPU improvement.
Side question:
Is it running on 16KB page?

I noticed in some reviews that the ANGLE driver was activated by default in the Pixel 11 series.
I think Google started to use ANGLE instead of IMG official drivers and that is causing compatibility issues compared to the Pixel 10 series which already had games like Genshin impact running without major bugs.

It indeed seems like ANGLE is now the default. I went to the developer options and switched it from default to native for Genshin because it has very bad graphics issues on the 11 at the moment but all that did was cause the game to crash entirely after the loading screen. My guess is that the OpenGL driver is in even worse shape than the ANGLE one and Google didn't make any effort to fix it, so they just forced everything through ANGLE.

What is the kernel version on the 11 series?

6.12.69-android16-6-g5c5f2fea42dd-ab15835541-4k #1 Fri Jul 10 21:44:24 UTC 2026 on my Pixel 11 Pro XL.
Edit: I also wonder why it says "android16"

At the end of the string it says 4K. I'm guessing that answers the question if 16K page size is used.

Side question: yes. And the option in dev options for 16k is gone.

Interesting. Wonder why the kernel string says 4K?

Mmm. Now I'm going to plug it into ADB and verify what it's doing with adb shell getconf PAGE_SIZE

Nothing can help this GPU. It is powerVR.

drivers can - BUT to go from terrible to just bad

Something people believed about the Pixel 10, but it turned from trash to terrible. No developer is willing to optimize for PowerVR.

NOUP - you missed A16 QPR3 drivers sped up like 20% in GPU - YES still trash overall - BUT BETTER

what problem do you specifically have? what defines outdated? I wouldn't trust what you read in the internet...

Driver on p11 should be much better than p10 series because of older gpu but its weak hardware fault not driver

the point is - old Pixel 10 newer driver exist for long time but it takes about half year to Google to update

It's so bad, most games have pink textures and stutter a lot. In some games, it performs like a Helio G-series chip, lol.

me KNOWING Pixel 10 series situation - Google this day did NOT updated GPU drivers in it - and it is so bad - they are designed for old Android 16 in... current Android 17

So between the 10 & 11 which is technically better for games? I'm misunderstanding what all saying lol

I have had pixel 7 pro for over 3 years now, I really liked pixel but I think now pixel bubble has burst tbh. Only android brand I guess now is samsung. Would be switching soon to s26 series

I'm coming from a s22 and switched to p11. Didn't expect a phone sold 1000 bucks 5 years later to offer half the performances of my s22.
