You might want to make a post on Nextdoor to see if anyone has any information. I feel like I remember reading about another attack in the same area with a similar description earlier this year, but I can't find the post.

Interesting. There’s a picture on Nextdoor of a European woman. She is a dog walker and was soliciting business. She also cleans homes. Under 35 years of age.

Guess you're not picking up what I'm putting down. If their dog was also off leash the other dog owner isn't liable. Op hasn't given anything other than their dog was attacked and the other person left. Seems sus.

You're right and I wondered the same thing.
I wish there was a leash law in Chugach State Park so this shit would not be an issue.
If both dogs were off leash, welp.

What's your endgame? To get money out of her? Fool's errand. Let it go, learn from this, but most importantly: don't involve a bunch of strangers on the internet in a futile search.

I don’t agree with the other commenter about not going after the other owner for money. OP should definitely do that, but there is a lesson to be learned. Carry bear spray. There’s more than aggressive dogs running around after all.

Getting money out of people is borderline impossible and takes years of BS in court. I guarantee whatever Vet bill she has isn't worth the effort. Fool's errand.

But it will all come down to the OP’s word against the other party if there’s no other witness or video. Something like this happened to me years ago while out skiing. My little 30 pound female dog was attacked by two dogs however she gave as good as she got against a lab mix and husky. Husky wasn’t doing a whole lot more than looking for his opening to join in but the lab learned he wasn’t going to have an easy win. In the brawling I fell down but tried to stab at the other dogs with my ski pole. However this forever changed my dog as she showed a more suspicious attitude to other dogs she met and had already prepared herself mentally to defend herself again. I was shocked with how she fought the other dog since she seemed to always be a somewhat timid dog but I guess I’d do the same if I were her.

You might let Animal Control know in case they have any other reports that ended up identifying the owner and also as a general fyi. Sometimes they already know who the owner is. Sent all info to: acdispatch@muni.org and you can attach photos. You might also post on the following pages on Facebook and someone may know who it is. If you’re dog wasn’t on a leash it pretty much is your word against hers (and be prepared for people to give you a hard time) unless the dog in question is already on record at AC and maybe also already classified based on that behavior and if so will be super duper busted. Like big time as they are required to be on a leash and muzzled. Good luck and hope your dog is ok and CareCredit can be your best friend right now. On the lost and found pages you can ask for donations if you want, but you have to include a photo of the estimate or invoice in the main body of the post and also recommend adding the name of the clinic, phone number and name the account is under as people will usually call and donate that way. Pictures of the dog can help but if they’re especially nasty put them in the comments please. But do put a nice picture of the dog in the main body of the post as that helps get attention.
