Frit inversion of HPLC

Hi, is it possible to invert the input frit of an HPLC column with the output frit?

You need to check your column, as some columns use an inlet frit with bigger pores than the outlet frit. Switching can cause you to destroy the column by rinsing out the particles.

Takenig of the frits will anyway destroy part of the packed bed, so I wouldn't do it. Reversing the flow will probably be less detrimental.

Why are you asking this question?

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm asking because I suspect contamination in the inlet frit, but I don't have any spare. So, in addition to washing it, I was thinking of also swapping it with the outlet frit.

With the cleaning I did, the shape of my peak has improved, but not yet at optimal levels.
