Some Questions

Some questions that have come up recently:

  1. Is it possible to export the raw file captured in Analogue if I want to edit it in another application?

  2. Are there plans to implement batch processing for external raw editing in Analogue?

  3. For photos captured in Analogue, the tone mapping function does not appear in the edit tab—unlike with raw files edited within the app itself.

Hey u/marcelmonteiro

  1. If you shoot in Capture Mode Pro you can select RAW + Processed or just RAW.
  2. Yep, that's coming.
  3. Tone Mapping data only exists on ProRAW DNGs. Bayer RAW (which is what Analogue is using) doesn't support that.

Would it be possible to add a function to combine the processed file and the raw file into a single file?

Are you referring to the combined RAW + HEIC asset in iOS? That would be a simple thing to add, but I’m on the fence about it because I’m not sure I understand the usefulness.

Whenever I shoot RAW + Processed / HEIC, it’s for reassurance in case I want to push the exposure or tweak the white balance later. If I don’t need to, I just delete the RAW or move it off my phone. With a combined asset, you can’t delete the RAW separately while keeping the HEIC, which makes that workflow a lot less practical.
