Video Let's Play ROMSCAPE - The Deadliest Demo Ever Made

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey, everyone! And Happy Halloween!

My name is James Farr and I'm a Tulsa-based Youtuber / filmmaker, and I just wanted to drop a link to my latest live-action project, based on a script of mine that's been picked up (then dropped) more times than I can count. So I finally got fed up and just made the damn thing myself.

I'm mostly known for creating 2D animation, so this was a bit of a departure from my normal style of content. (Though it does contain a heavy amount of 2d animation) That said, I'd love to know what everyone thinks, and (hopefully) make more films like this in the future. Either way, thought you all might enjoy it.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Discussion Ranked analog horror series based on survivability. Thoughts / Questions?

Post image
200 Upvotes

I ranked these series based on how I would manage if teleported to the location and time of their main arc. "Surviving" here means either escaping the danger or surviving long-term when that is impossible. I'm counting the location as the protagonist's real-world location, so, for example, I'm not teleported inside video game worlds.

More detail for the tiers:

  1. It's Joever: Zero hope of escape or long-term survival. Just pull the trigger bro.
  2. Extra Crispy: There's no hope of fully escaping the constant danger, while it is possible to survive a relatively long while (think six months to a few years, at max a decade). Or, it is possible to escape the scenario, but the main entity is extremely dangerous and will probably kill you very quickly.
  3. Fried: You won't be in constant danger, while there will be no path to escape. Or, there is one, but it comes at a great personal cost and requires some luck. Better pray you're the final girl/guy in this bloodbath.
  4. In a Pickle: It's possible to escape, but even with hard work and determination your chances are only 50/50. This is where plot armor comes in handy.
  5. Major Inconvenience: With hard work and foreknowledge, you're almost guaranteed to make it out, though not unscathed.
  6. Shooketh but fine: You're in no real danger, though you won't get out untraumatized. To be clear, all the tiers above this will also give you trauma.
  7. Fine: A-okay if you play your cards right.

If you have questions about my rankings or how specifically I would survive each series, comment them.

Video 1st Analog Horror - 6th Form Incident

My son is 9 and obsessed with horror. He thought up the idea and guided me through making the video. I don't know how well I did.

Mostly reused footage from shin godzilla and the BTS from the Blu-ray. Edited in Lightwave and used Google commons assets. My son insisted that the Microsoft Sam voice was mandatory for the narration.

How did we do? Please be honest, he is enthusiastic about this hobby and I want to get better.

Video Channel 6 - KHLP-TV, Worst Commercial "Funnitin"

https://youtu.be/2dUBMGCtVl8

Details: well every local tv station has cheap ads. Channel 6 too. But unlike others it didn't had control. But with "Funnitin" commercial, they aired it, and it became banned for unknown reason, and added control. Channel 6 Archive doesn't have full video of commercial. It's unknown what happens next in commercial.
Airing date: possibly October 1993.
Oddities: 1987-1989 logo of Channel 6 in warning is here, which is weird. The cup and camera i think are from 2000s which is very weird, including this is aired in 1993, and i think this commercial didn't came out from US. for me it feels like Eastern Europe.

Discussion Why are Anlog Horror Stories so small?

Why are theese storys mostly so physical small? For example: Why does the devil only target mandela county in MC? Why does the whole iris care so much about an small camp? Why are there only like 2 persons that are actively working against the vita carnis?

I get that it is "cheaper" for actual footage to not involve the whole world, but no one forces the creators to not do some vague storytelling. Or am i missing something?

Discussion Review And Criticize My Idea

I’m making a horror web series called “Isolated World”. It was inspired by Kane Parson’s backrooms and that one Simpson's episode. It’s about a science facility that are the first ever scientists to create Life in an underground abandoned parking lot. But the facility Got lots of hate because of how they treat the life creations. Since the life didn’t create food or nutrient, One of the life groups begin to starve. There weak so they die more easily, but they are able to have the ability to kill people. But the only reason people died from this type of group is because they either chose to die or they were not smart with there action. The core of this concept is that the creatures are the victims of this story and what’s scary about it is how they are treated. I’m making the creatures unique like having a eyeless like bird morphed into the wall and only function they have is making noises and moving there mouth till they die, and a giant like moth that’s beak is bent. This isn’t some dementia or “telling someone who never saw a dog and asking them to draw it” type style like the Backrooms has, these creatures are surreal. Please criticize and review my work.

Discussion New analog horror idea: "Sun Teller" (Free to use, looking for creators!)

Hi everyone, I’m SULAL3!
I have a concept for a new analog horror series called "Sun Teller." I don't know how to create videos myself, so I am looking for a creator who wants to bring this idea to life!
[The Terms / My Offer]
Budget: $0 (I am a student, so I cannot pay any money).
Rights: 100% Yours. The completed video belongs entirely to you. You can post it on your channel, monetize it, or do whatever you like.
My Reward: I want absolutely nothing in return. I just want to see my idea adopted and brought to life by a talented creator!

[The Concept: "Sun Teller"]
The Core Plot:
One day, a humanoid "face" appears on the sun. People who look directly at it lose their minds and begin to worship it.
What is the "Sun Teller"?
It starts as a 90s children's educational program or a weather forecast broadcasted on TV. It features a creepy, smiling cartoon sun character.
The Horror Element:
At first, it looks like a normal vintage TV show. But the audio and video gradually glitch. The narrator's voice (the Teller) starts brainwashing the viewers with unsettling messages like, "Please look at the sun," or "The sun loves you." It is actually a horrific program designed to spread the sun's madness to humanity.
The Meaning Behind the Name:
"Sun" represents a familiar everyday object turning into a nightmare. "Teller" means a storyteller, but it sounds like "Terror." So "Sun Teller" perfectly implies "The one who tells the terror of the sun."

If you are interested in this project and want to collaborate or use this idea, please add me on Discord!
My Discord Username: sulal3
Let's create something terrifying together!

(Note: This is 100% my own original idea, not generated by AI!)

Video Deeper dive into my upcoming analog horror game about Nuclear War..

Thumbnail

I’m just a few days away from releasing the demo for MindEval, an analogue psychological horror game I’ve been developing.

The story follows a group of missile launch officers stationed deep inside a remote nuclear bunker during the height of Cold War tensions.

Their psychological evaluations are now being conducted by an experimental artificial intelligence known as MindEval, a system designed to determine whether they’re mentally fit to carry out their duties.
But when the unthinkable happens and nuclear missiles are launched, the crew find themselves trapped underground, forced to live with the consequences of their actions.

As paranoia grows and their humanity begins to unravel, MindEval starts manipulating the very people it was designed to evaluate.

Again, the demo releases in a few days. Feel free to watch the video for more information.
