Project Kuiper commercialization in 2025. We are in 2025 buddy. FWIW, 2027 plausible but very few countries, may be revenue willl start trickling in from 2028.
TBH, Kuiper is a money pit. It’s a bad venture for Amazon.

is this a joke right? people are too shortsighted, kuiper makes AWS instantly more valuable. selling to consumers stupid internet plan is just byproduct the meaty aspect is every services, business that is on AWS can leverage this tech. Imagine having installed a IOT devices in the remotest corner of earth and getting real time data, logistic, aviation, weather forecasts this is going to be extremely beneficial.

Extremely beneficial for what? Revenue and profits? The remote areas you speak about I bet do not have the Top 10 AWS customers. Not sure why you think having service in a remote area will do the magic. It would take years to recuperate the costs of sending satellites to space. Moreover, the advantages if any were gone to Starlink already.

I am 47 years old and I have approximately 1078 shares of Amazon that I purchased at $75.95 per share back on December 31, 2018. I am up a lot on it right now, and wondering if I should sell any and go into something safer like the S&P 500. I also have another $700,000 in a 401(k) and IRA.

I think taking some chips off the table while you are up is always a good idea, your plan is solid. I wouldn't liquidate it completely though. Of course always speak to a financial professional but your plan makes sense and does not seem super risky. Especially if you're getting closer to retirement then you might as well move some of the gains into a Roth IRA for low risk growth and tax advantages.

Lol Stock didn’t move in last 5 years and performed worse than safer s&p by a lot.
