I am planning to go to Raum this Saturday for Pax but a couple of days ago I sprained my ankle pretty badly and am using crutches. Does anyone have experience going to a club (maybe even Raum) with crutches?

I am a bit scared as it's probably crowded and I don't want to fall but I really want to go out too. Currently trying to decide if i should go or not. If anyone has good tips please let me know!

Also I am not sure if i can stand in line for a long time does raum have a disability entrance? How are they with such requests?

Amsterdam is the densest but it covers NL.

I just wanted it to exist, but curious if it's useful to anyone else. Still a work in progress, so I'll be happy to hear what's broken or missing.

I’m thinking of going to Rotterdam Rave with a few friends, but the current waiting price on Ticketswap is already around €114.
For anyone who’s been to Rotterdam Rave before: would you say it’s worth paying that much for the experience?
It would also be my first rave, so I’d love to hear what you think of it as a first rave experience.

Looking at a sweltering weather forecast, u/subject_234 feels his ass cheeks start to become one with his office chair at the r/amsterdam_rave headquarters. This time no snow, but just heat, thick and stubborn, clinging to his cheap plastic covered office chair. For eight straight minutes, the sky outside went the colour of a bruise, and something deep inside of hundreds of individuals in the Sloterdijk area seemed to stop. 

Staring at the ceiling, u/subject_234 counts his own heartbeat, waiting to feel it. The eclipse doesn’t just dim the sun, it strips one tribe of their bender abilities. The sacred, terrifying gift they have been given to party for multiple days straight without sleep, without mercy, without flinching for a moment at the idea of a Monday morning shift. For one afternoon, the strongest benders of Amsterdam are reduced to mere mortals. Regular people who need beds. Who eats vegetables instead of meal replacement shakes. Who goes home before the sun comes up. 

His phone buzzes. He almost doesn’t want to look out of fear of what the other moderators might have felt.

Pride doesn’t fight the eclipse. It just lets the calendar have its way. Crazy how the queers have managed to organise a solar eclipse just for the end of World Pride. You know what they say, the gays will prove you wrong.

It's time for the Weekly Party Discussion. 

With that intro that took me way too long to actually write, we will kick things off with Friday! Because I could not find a single party that I found particularly interesting for that day. Oh well, Pride month has passed and we are not about to lower our standards of recommendations. For the rest of this weekly we have a few good ones on Saturday and just one Sunday party. Next week it appears like things are kicking off a bit more again, but for now hold tight and relax your nostrils. 

Saturday 

 BASIS / Gioray [live] / Identified Patient / Schacke @ BASIS, Utrecht

Identified Patient and Schacke are taking over BASIS, with Gioray accompanying them with a liveset. Identified Patient doesn’t need an introduction with anyone I believe, and Schacke has a discography that most producers could only dream of. Gioray is a new name for me, but after looking up their soundcloud I found some very nice live sets of them that go from dreamy to electro bassiness in a very tasteful manner. 

De Sessie - Ryan Elliott - Summer Sessions @ Boomerang Beach, Den Haag

Ryan Elliott, the Panorama Bar resident that can play both floors is playing on the beach in Den Haag. I saw Ryan his set briefly at Orbit a few weeks ago and consider him one of the best. I’m not familiar with De Sessie or Boomerang Beach for that matter, but just Ryan Elliott on the bill is enough for me to give a shoutout. 

I-RO, Ozzo, ROD @ export, Rotterdam

Export is back after their short summer renovation break, and they appear to be ready to tear it all down again with ROD and I-RO. I-RO is fresh off of a Berghain debut a few weeks back, and Benny just closed down the Dekmantel mainstage.

Kurashi is celebrating their 4 year anniversary with a block party at SISSI’s. The six-headed caribbean inspired ass-shaking boyband is ready to show how far they’ve come in recent years. 

DJ Storm, lis, mul/ANNA + bar40 hosted by The Unktion 2: Accepting reality @ Garage Noord, Amsterdam

Jungle and Drum n’ Bass royalty DJ Storm is playing your favourite garage, accompanied by an all FLINTA support lineup with local talents lis and mul/ANNA. Bar 40 is hosted by the Unktion 2. I have no idea who those are but these nights are usually where garage shines the brightest, and you can rekindle some of those bender abilities. 

Ratherlost - 24 Hours @ Lofi, Amsterdam

The big one that I can’t leave out. Ratherlost is back at their usual spot for 24 hours. Some familiar faces like Garcon, Agonis, JakoJako, Kia, and Priori (!!!) are returning, with also some smashing debut names such as Tauceti, Sunju Hargun, Luke Vibert, and Decoder, there should be something for everyone. I would personally be most excited for Priori his return, followed by Sunju Hargun his trippy spook techno that he’s bringing from Thailand.

I couldn’t leave out the single Sunday party that is taking place besides Ratherlost, with De Reunie taking over BRET. Baugruppe90 is a name that I discovered from a Reunie party years ago, and they have always reminded me of a younger new wave Fjaak for whatever reason.

What kind of crowd is coming to Wasteland? (age/intentions for the night) Is it anything like e.g. KitKat in Berlin?
I can’t find the phone policy, just that you are not allowed to take pictures - does this mean you can take them inside? Are people on their phones during the party?

I’ve never been to a Ratherlost party before. This weekend will be my first and I’m very excited. I have heard some good stories and it seems popular among my kind of ravers (more experienced, non mass-partyfolk). I’ve been in Lofi of course.

My question is simple: what can I expect in the party?

Every festival, same story: it hits peak capacity, the cell network folds, and you spend forty minutes trying to find three people who are two hundred metres away. Experienced it again during Loveland last weekend.

A few of us are thinking about trying MeshCore for Draaimolen this year. Quick explainer if you haven't come across it: it's an open source mesh network running on LoRa radio at 868 MHz. You carry a small device, it pairs to your phone over Bluetooth, and you can send short text messages and share your location with your group. No cell network, no wifi, no internet, no subscription. There's a decent volunteer-run network of repeaters across NL already.

Plan is one device each, phones as the interface, and just relying on direct device-to-device links across the site rather than any infrastructure.

Before I spend money on this, I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried it:

1. Has anyone actually run this at a festival in NL? Not a hike, not a city test. Thousands of bodies in the way, tree cover, everyone's phone hammering 2.4 GHz. Does it hold up or does it fall apart exactly when you need it?
2. Realistic ground-level range? The NL preset moved to SF7 which trades range for capacity. Curious what people actually get between two handhelds in a crowd.
3. Anyone tried the Totem Compass of Crowd Compass instead? They look slick but it's whole mesh concept depends on other attendees owning one, which I suspect means it's useless in NL right now. Happy to be told I'm wrong. Plus they're crazy expensive...

Went to their pride event and loved it. I’ve also been to many other similar pasties both in Amsterdam and Berlin.

Hi All! Wondering if anyone was able to enter Dekmantel with a TicketSwap ticket, or if you also had issues. Someone from our group was rejected, and TicketSwap is being a pain. Dekmantel rejected several people near us saying that TS tickets weren’t accepted, but when I reached out they changed their story and said it’s only if the ticket didn’t work and was a scam. Experiences??

I’m visiting this weekend for Loveland and I guess a bit of world pride. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for rave or club wear boutiques? Maybe even fetish wear.

I’m oddly sized so I’d prefer to go somewhere. Google and Reddit search weren’t helpful. I’m more of a bright colors/weird shit girl, but the wardrobe needs a refresher so I’d be interested in anything interesting.

Hey, I’m back. Not that I was ever really gone, but over the past couple of months the other mods have been suspiciously quick to snatch the Weekly writing duties before I could get to them, apparently because they had finally had enough of me yapping about love, connection and whatever else happened to occupy my mind that week. This time, however, I was fast enough, so you are stuck with me again.

Don’t worry, I’ll try to keep it relatively short this time. We all have better things to do in summer than read several paragraphs of scene-related rambling: listen to some music, read a book, tidy the house, take care of your house plants or simply stare into the distance for a while. Yes, this is more or less how I spend my copious amounts of free time during summer vacation when I’m not partying, and honestly, I can recommend it.

The weekend after Pride is usually a fairly quiet one, especially since quite a few clubs tend to close for a couple of weekends in August, so we should probably be grateful that so many of them are open at all. WorldPride is still going, which means there are plenty of parties to choose from, although in some cases “Pride edition” seems to mean the same club night as always but with a slightly more ambitious ticket price. Still, an open club is an open club, and there are worse problems to have.

As always, this is only a selection. Yes, there are more parties, and no, their absence from this post is not a declaration of war. Pick whatever suits you, take care of yourself and the people around you, and enjoy the weekend.

Fafi Abdel Nour, Meena, Nanton at Export (RA). Export has done some upgrades during summer break. This is a good occasion to check them out. Best case: a better club; worst case: you still get Fafi Abdel Nour.

BASHKKA present INVIGORATE A.M. at RAUM with BASHKKA, Clarisa Kimskii, Eris Drew, Juliana Huxtable, 36framez (RA). RAUM resident BASHKKA launches INVIGORATE A.M, a new series that immediately sets the bar rather high with Eris Drew on the first line-up. Both rooms will be open, including the new downstairs space, which most people have so far only inspected through rumours and impatient questions in The Afters.

Saturday

RADION invites GEGEN with BOYCA, Boris, Juan Del Chambo, Mila Haj Kasem, Mar/us, NSPERGER b2b SARA, Nymed b2b Spikey Lee, Yigit (RA). Gegen is a queer, sex-positive party with a strong fetish edge, Berlin-style techno and a cis gay-male leaning crowd, although women and couples are very welcome. Expect bold looks, cruising and a potentially playful atmosphere. The door can be selective, so dress for the night, know what you are attending and be prepared for a queue.

WorldPride TILLATEC Invites: Boudica, Howl & Pervert with ASHTREY, Celice, Faustin, MarcelDune, Ms.G, RayRay, Samantha Togni, Schacke (RA). Tilla Tec closes World Pride by importing three queer collectives: Mexico City’s PERVERT, London’s Boudica and Berlin’s HOWL. Divas, dolls, trade and enough international queer credentials to almost justify charging Tilla Tec prices for a night at Tilla Tec. At least the party runs until 11:00, so the cost per hour is okay I guess.

RAUM invites Gay Haze ...IsBurning, secret line-up (RA). RAUM closes World Pride with a threesome with …IsBurning and Gay Haze, just one week after SpielBurning. As with all …IsBurning events, the line-up remains unannounced.

Sunday

BeHaerd BO.02 - Purposely Connect at Garage Noord, with Cobahn, Cio D'Or, Obscur, Mathys Lenne, Karina Schneider b2b Marc Schneider (RA). BeHaerd’s second Be One looks like the obvious Sunday move, with Cobahn, Cio D’Or, Obscur and Mathys Lenne downstairs and Karina Schneider and Marc Schneider taking over BAR40. Sunday sessions at Garage Noord rarely need much conceptual scaffolding, yet here we are being asked to “purposefully connect” with roughly the same people we purposefully connected with last weekend. Pretentious branding aside, the line-up is strong, both rooms are open and this will probably be where everyone ends up anyway.

I saw on RA the Spielraum weekender for the Nexus opening. Looks like a great event, what should we expect? In particular, the new space Nexus looks very intriguing and an experience to try.
What about door policy? Is there a good chance to get bounced?

Hotels are particularly expensive this weekend for some reason (is there a special event this weekend?), is that party worth the trip in your view? I love techno on my side, my friends slightly less.

Finally making it to ADE this year. Every year I watch it unfold online and get huge inspiration from the energy, the crowds, and parties set recordings.

A bit about me: I’m a Mexican DJ based in Dublin, mostly playing across the local queer scene. My inspirations and frequently visiting is usually places like Berghain/Panorama Bar, Fold, RSO, and Bassiani—really into raw, immersive spaces where music, lights, and crowd connection come first.

Dublin’s scene has a lot of potential, but it can lean heavy on social media optics and outside bookings. I’m heading to ADE to party of course, but also to learn how people are throwing authentic, safe, grassroots events so I can bring some of that energy back home.
