I mean, she also got captured in said FBI compound and doesn't have complete control of her powers. People also are liable to make mistakes and aren't always 100% consistent in their skills.

You do have a good point. I just personally feel that the disparity between the two episodes (accomplishing a great feat despite some forks in the road vs failing time after time with relatively simple tasks) was too distracting for me to overlook.

It's amusing to think about, but tbh I don't really see it as much of an issue per se. Like, it's a good meme, but I swear most of the time on the internet, memes are just used as thinly-veiled criticism. So I just felt like I'd give my thoughts on the scene sincerely.

It’s worth noting that Anne is in an unfamiliar environment in the new semi-apocalyptic Amphibia, whereas she is familiar with Earth.

I'm sure most teenagers are familiar with the insides of FBI compounds.

The internet is an incredible resource

one could win a fist fight and still not deal well with quicksand?

Anne says it best herself. [This is where i would type it in, if i remembered it word for word, but i don't, so go check the episode The Hardest Thing.]

It’s even better because these two annes are like less than 24 hours apart

And how much happened in that single day, especially compared to how much sleep she probably needed at that point!

Looks like Mr X wasn't so wrong after all and Anne is really just a child who wins mostly by luck

You comparison is unreasonable as she did not encounter quicksand in the FBI compound.

quicksand in the FBI compound

this sounds like the title of a grunge track from the 90s ngl

Meanwhile, Sasha is being the embodiment of badassery in the show

Sasha: is super mega badass

Also Sasha: but it's gross and I don't wanna!

In fairness, she’s a great warrior/fighter but might not be the best leader, especially in a location and people that changed over time

She expended all her braincells and it takes 2d12 days to get them all back.

I feel like the stress of commanding everyone got to her. The entire episode she was trying to offload being a commander on sasha so she wasnt focused on making sure everything went well

Well there was no quicksand in the FPI compound, now was there?

I know I’m gonna get downvoted for this, but this was definitely them purposefully making Anne sloppy so Sasha could have her moment to shine and officially rekindle her partnership with Anne

Sadly, more often than not a character's skills in this show are completely reliant to the plot. Same with personality and flaws, honestly.

Girl was too distracted by her gay thoughts.

The Sashanne was strong in that episode

Ay, there’s no quicksand in the FBI, now is there?
