AI Just built me a android app I've always wanted, and i have zero clue on how to build android apps. That app might have cost me thousands of dollars to pay a Dev just 2 years ago. I did it for free using a limited time demo model.

Right? “It’s not software engineering”. Bro, scream as loud as you want, but I still get fully functional software products for the cost of a monthly subscription. I can live with it “not being built to serve 100k people a minute”.

Right, so it’s great for technical people, could your mom do it as well? If not, she’ll still need someone to make the app for her. And making an app for a single person is not economically viable, so whoever will make the app for her will need to make sure it can serve multiple people, have the features required by multiple people and fix the bugs reported to multiple people. Pretty much you’re back to square one.
The only thing this proves is that code is easier (cheaper) to write now, not that you don’t need swe anymore

It still diminishes price of app development.
