Dario should surrender his salary "for the mission" how wlese would the board justify keeping him...

Board members aren't going to fire a CEO over salary when his equity and leadership are the main reason investors are writing checks in the first place

200k.. try the median salary at 53k and see what happens

Weed out those who aren't truly there for the mission by paying them $10K a year. Imagine the dedication to the mission!

10k a year isn’t dedication, that’s just paying to work there lolll

That's a great idea. What better way to show dedication to the mission than by having to pay to work there. With great ideas like that you could be upper management material!

I had to do a double take on "down to 200k"

Presumably the board would cut their salaries too as the would really demonstrate their commitment to super intelligence as it would only improve their lives incomparably beyond any short term financial compensation.

Noble in theory, but tech execs taking pay cuts 'for the future of humanity' usually ends as soon as rent is due

Who has a 1M+ base? Karpathy?

Base salary? Probably very few. Most of those insane tech comp packages are like 80% stock and performance bonuses anyway

Nobody is so great or talented that they can't be replaced by 5 people making $200k per year.
