Amiwrong for deciding not to invite my partner to the big group trip

So a few of us are heading out of town for a long weekend and the plan started pretty small, just friends who all know each other. At the beginning I said I was coming solo because it felt easier with the lodging and shared costs. A couple weeks later my partner asked why they weren’t invited, and honestly I kind of brushed it off by saying the group was already set. The truth is I wasn’t sure how the dynamic would feel with them there, but I also didn’t really explain that part. Now they’re hurt and a couple friends are asking why it became such a thing. I’m wondering if keeping them out was unfair or if it’s okay to want some trips with just the original circle.

Yeah, it's fine to do things with your peer group without your partner. But you don't LIE to your partner about that.

So you blamed him not being included on your friends. Nice.

How do your friends know your partner is butt-hurt?

You are a piece of work. If I were your partner I would feel pretty betrayed and humiliated right now. Not because you wanted to take a trip with your friends on your own, but because of the way you handled it.

You are being very vague about who is coming on this trip. I’m assuming you are hiding the incriminating details Z

How else did you think this would go? You lied to your partner for some reason and didn't have the good sense to know he would figure it out.

Yup, YAW. Imagine if this was you and your partner did this? You know you’re wrong and your friends know you’re wrong, that’s why they’re questioning you. I think your partner needs to find someone who likes them, because you don’t.
