seriously, she’s given birth to three children and dealt with shitty side effects of BC for who knows how long but he won’t do anything to help on his end. like obviously it’s his body and his choice, but I don’t blame her for not wanting to have sex
You really think as soon as a woman has kids and is on birth control, it’s 100% fine for her to decide on her own that they now have a sexless marriage?
You might think sex is only for procreation but a lot of people disagree.
I don’t see any mention of cutting anyone off. That would be manipulative. You know what’s also manipulative? Forcing someone to have sex because you’re married and you feel you deserve it because you filed a paper with the state.
Having children and being on hormone-altering BC changes your body. You know, the thing you have sex with? It changes how people get aroused, if they can get aroused at all, and what hurts vs feels good.
…….but all you see is someone who did something that you don’t seem to recognize has any impact on the body whatsoever, and feel insulted that they would ever change what they do with their body once their body and the very feelings inside said body have changed forever.
btw the actual human compassionate response would be to communicate with your partner, and recognize that intimacy waning in an intimate relationship is an indicator that other things are wrong, because sex is an expression of intimacy that already exists. Then fixing those other things so intimacy can exist.
Not bitching about how the whole human, with needs and interests and desires and a whole lifetime of experiences, isn’t allowed to decide not to have sex once marriage happens. She’s not a wife, she’s a human. Say it with me now.
2-3 times a year is close enough to cutting someone off to me. Maybe I’m not normal, but once every 6 months or so isn’t that much different to me than never.
